RECAP...
Suddenly there was a banging on the door. How could a bunch of 10 year old orphans be so barbaric? I need an escape plan, I could just barge through the door, but they were probably armed.
The window! I could just jump out, and hope that the fall will spare my neck. So that is what I do, after picking up my bags, and stuffing the envelope in my back pocket. I open the window, close my eyes and jump.
_________________________________________________________________________________________#####If you ever get the chance to jump out a window... don't do it. It's not worth almost breaking your legs.Or probably breaking your wrist...like I did. I'm in so much pain right now. I forgot that my bedroom was on the third floor, therefore resulting to an awkward landing on my wrist.
After getting up, I ran as far away as I could from that terrible place. I ran until I couldn't breathe. Practically wheezing, I dropped on the nearest bench. I think I'm far enough away, I thought. So I decided to open the bag that I got from the floorboards. Inside the bag wasn't much, which was bizarre considering that it was so heavy.
A letter, a necklace, and a dress. The dress looked like something that came out of the Victorian era. I ignored the rest of the stuff and picked the letter up, it read:
My dearest daughter,
I know that you are confused. You are probably asking yourself why your dead mother wrote you a letter. The thing is, I'm not dead I am very much alive.
I'm sorry that I couldn't be there for you. Sorry that I didn't hear your first breath.
But I had to go... a life for a life, a soul for a soul that was the price I had to pay.I couldn't let you get taken, so I did what was necessary. I would love to tell you everything...but I can't. If you know too much then the Shadow will find you. He will track you down and kill you. Find the warrior elf, she will protect you and teach you to protect yourself until you get home.
Remember, don't trust anyone.
Love, Mum
Mum...she's Alive! But how? I put everything back in the bag, I even stuffed the smaller bag into the larger one. I still have to make precautions. Exhausted, I fell back against the bench. I guess fatigue took over me because the last thing I remember is my head hitting my bag that laid on the bench.

I felt the heat of the sun beating down on my face, and without opening my eyes I could tell that it was mid-afternoon. Probably around 5 o'clock. The sun was so hot, I'm surprised that I didn't get a heat stroke or something. Sitting up was a pain, I had a cramp in my neck and the wrist that I fell on was hurting like crazy, but I was too scared to look at it. It was probably really messed up.
I forced myself to look at it. My wrist wasn't as bad as I thought...it was worse. It didn't even look like a wrist and the thing attached to it was only vaguely recognizable as a hand. It was swelled up, and it felt like a few fingers were broken. Some parts were even numb, I guess that fall was worse than I thought.
"Hey you!" My head snapped up, it was a police officer. I guess I should worry about infection some other time.
I have to get out of here! I jumped up from the bench, grabbed my stuff, and ran.
"Hey, Stop!" But I wasn't going to stop. I glanced behind me, bad idea! The officer was right at my heels and he had two more friends with him.
"That's the girl who attacked those kids at the orphanage!" What? That is the lie Mrs. Willis fed them? That old hag!
I didn't have enough time to process what they were saying when out of nowhere a hand grabbed me around the waist and yanked me into an alleyway. Before I could scream for help another hand covered my mouth.
"Shhhhhh! Do you want them to find you?" A voice whispered in my ear. My eyes widened. I know that voice!
With my good hand I grabbed his arm and twisted. "Ow! I turned and my jaw dropped.
"It's You!" The boy from my dream! He had the same red hair, the same mischievous eyes, even his voice was the same!
"I'm sorry..." He looked confused.
"You're the boy from my dream!"
His face faltered slightly, before it went back to normal. "You must be mistaken...I think I would remember if I saw someone like you before."
You sure about that? I've spent enough time in the orphanage to know when someone is lying. This guy is good, but I saw the slight twitch in his eye, so I know the truth. But I play along anyways, let him lie. He saved me from the cops, it's the least I could do.
"Oh...my Bad!" I feigned embarrassment "It should be I who is sorry!" Was that too much?
"Don't sweat it, I'm Peter by the way." He said sticking his hand out for me to shake. I don't think I should trust him, weather he saved my life or not.
"I'm El..." The moment I touched his hand a wave of electricity shot up my arm. It was definitely not the good kind. It felt like ice was running through my veins, and my arm. I couldn't move an inch if I wanted to. You know that feeling you get when you hit the funny bone on your elbow? This was ten times worse. Though it only lasted a second, it felt like an eternity.
Peter retracted his hand as if he had been burnt "Nice to meet you...El"
