RECAP
"I was scared! Okay." Gwen's remark seemed to have stunned both boys speechless.
"Why?" Arthur questioned Merlin didn't speak knowing what she felt. He felt it too.Her lips trembled as she told the biggest secret of her life. "My mother was born with magic, just like me. Though she was the wife of one of the King's very close friends, he killed her. Cut her head right off."
Just like him.

Darkness...Everywhere. I was floating in it, feeling nothing. Suddenly two doors materialized.I know these doors. Both doors were closed, but I knew that I had to open one. The one on the right. I opened it, on the other side of the door was something unimaginable.
An endless swirl of colors. Every color of the rainbow... even some that have never been imagined. Then the voices came, it didn't take me long to figure out that they were the thoughts of people.
They got louder and louder, the chasm of color got brighter and brighter. Until it was all overwhelming, an endless hum of voices like a train barreling down rickety tracks, a light so bright even the sun would turn away.
Too loud! Too bright! Everything was just too much! I slammed the door shut, leaving me in dim silence once again.
The other door stood there intimidatingly. I opened it in spite of my reluctant fear.
It was eerily silent and blacker then pitch. I tried closing it but there was a force keeping it open.
Then out of nowhere it was like a vacuum was in the door trying to suck me in. Then blackness consumed me.

"I don't know about this, Merlin." Gwen whispered nervously. She had never done something like this."Oh come on Gwen, there's nothing to be scared about!" Merlin murmured, his face clearly showing irritation.
"But Merlin, if we get caught..." she trailed off. They were in the King's wing in the castle, only authorized servants were allowed here. They were not authorized.
Arthur had stormed in there a short while ago. Gwen could still see his face. Shocked...no more than shocked Horrified. After that he has spun on his heel and ran for the castle.
She had known what he was going to do so she ran after him, trying to convince him not to do anything.
But here they were, Arthur stubborn as ever. Gwen and Merlin still not knowing what to do.
They crept down the servant passage towards His Royal Highness's study. Not many servants knew of the passages within the walls.
Before Merlin could say anything comforting, the King's voice sounded through the door right next to them.
"...I know what I'm doing, Gaius." His voice was weary. Gwen and Merlin fought for the key hole to look through. Merlin won.
"Your Majesty-" a soft voice spoke at barely a whisper. It has the slight rasp of old age.
"You will not change my mind."
"But you're dying!" Gwen's hand flew to her mouth. She and Merlin shared a look. Merlin straightened up to let her look through.
The office was breathtakingly beautiful, it was vast, and warm-which was surprising for such a cold and heartless person.
The fireplace blazed with fire, near it was a desk made of Oakwood, on one side of it was a throne-like armchair, on the other side were two fauteuils facing the fire.
