Continuation: Edwin's pov
As I asked Eric that intense and extremely hard question, I, myself was also nervous. My heart was beating so fast and there were only two possible answers. Yes or no. I was expecting that he'll not answer my question directly and it turned out, I was right.
"Dude speak to me," I said, looking into his face seriously. His face turned into blank and I couldn't read his mind. "Forget her," Eric replied. He looked at me with an empty emotion.
"Why would I forget Alice if I have like her? Anyways you don't care for her feeling that's why she needs me the most," I answered him with a stern face."What if you'll leave Alice?" I added. The cool, intense breeze made it harder for me to feel comfortable.
"That will never happen, I told you to forget everything," Eric reminded me. Now he was playing cool. His hands shoved into his hoodie pockets again. I still couldn't read his mind though.
"I can't."
"Yes you can."
He was looking at the sea and he seemed angry on the inside. Suddenly, Eric's nerves on his arms tightened as his hands clenched into fist. "Give me a reason and I'll do it," I gave the same expression as Eric did. It was cold, strange and stiff.
"You don't need to protect her."
"Why?"
"You don't need to check on her."
"Tell me why?"
"You should forget about your feelings for her."
"Dude, you're freaking me out! Why?!"
"Because I love her and she's mine."
His deep, blue eyes became deeper and darker as he said those heart-breaking words.
Finally, he already said it. Even though I was hurting as hell on the inside, there was a part of me that I should let them two decide on what they really wanted. My heart tore into pieces and I can't bring it back the way it was. I guess this is it. The only way to make her happy is.. to forget her- the hardest thing that I will ever do in my life.
"Fine," I said, swallowing a big lump that was stuck in my throat.
"Fine?" Eric asked, curiously. There was a crack on his voice.
"I'll forget about my feelings for Alice but I will still be her bestfriend. We should also have our own time together and we should pretend that nothing happened this night," I offered him.
"Deal?" I asked, stretching my right hand as an offer.
