Suddenly.. someone opened the door..

"Snap out of it Alice," Edwin said, entering my room while I'm still thinking about my future.

"Oh, Hi Edwin!" I  faked a smile pretending  that there's nothing wrong. But wait... "You should supposed to be sleeping by now." I narrowed my eyes at him. "Y-yeah.. but I can't sleep.." He rubbed his neck.

Still thinking… he noticed that I was a little bit lonely that night. Edwin sat comfortably on my computer chair resting his legs on my desk and putting his  hands to the back of his neck.

"Looks like someone's selfish around here..." His manly voice echoed through my room since no one's around except me and my best friend, Edwin.

I understand what Edwin said it means that I should share my problems to him instead of hiding my feelings to myself.

I met Edwin twelve years ago. We used to play all the time when we were kids. When it comes to looks obviously he's handsome. Mostly, girls would stick to him like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that can't be separated. But even though those flirty girls like him, Edwin wants to be alone most of the times.

He's not the actual cool bad boy type that would date different kind of girls every night and would use his looks to attract other people. Instead he's a noble, sweet, innocent, funny, good-looking white Australian man. Anyone who stares at his perfect green eyes would definitely fall for him.

Actually I called him my "sweet chubby buddy mate" before.  But Edwin didn't like me to call him that way again 'cause that was  so  twelve years ago and now he lost weight.

He knows everything about me even my actions and my expressions! That's why Edwin knew that I was worried that day.Going back to what Edwin said a while ago, I told to him everything about what happened this afternoon and he was amazingly surprised when he heard about me marrying Eric.

"I know right? It's too early for me," I said. "And the thing is I haven't met him yet. And I don't even know if I can survive to live with him in the same house under the same roof. Honestly I'm more comfortable to live with you instead of that.. that.. what do you call that again? Oh! Yeah! that weirdo guy!" I added with my devastated face and looks like I'm going to cry.

"That's nice," he said with his cute perfect smile.

"Nice? Seriously?! " I asked with my voice getting louder.

"You're my best friend how could you!" I added with my grumpy look.

"Did I say something wrong?" Edwin asked curiously. Trying to figure out what did he say wrong.

"Well… you can still smile and laugh even when your best friend is worrying," I replied while my tears started to come out.
