I feel so heavy. My eyes can barely open, even then I couldn't see anything. It's so dark. I can hear a dripping tap? No, it's not a tiled floor below me. My hand was resting in a sticky pool of some kind. A basement or maybe a warehouse. I know I'm not at home, I can't feel Mephisto. I can barely feel my own body.

"You look so pathetic like that." The male voice rang through my head like nails on a chalk board. "You hid from me pretty well. Even got pretty badass protection. Shame it was all for nought." That's the man that took me, that much I knew. I can't remember how I got here though. My mind is too busy processing pain and everything to think clearly. "What was that guy? Servant or body guard. My money is on body guard, my familiar says servant" I felt a cold hand lift my chin as my eyes met a dimly lit face. One eye, the left one, was just an empty socket. It was rather creepy. "Come on, tell me that much? You're gonna die either way. Help a man settle a bet"

"Why?" I barely whispered. He growled and dropped my chin.

"Coz I don't like sitting in silence, bitch. Just tell me, is he your servant or body guard? You're gonna die anyway so why bother not talking? Doesn't matter to me, just might make me request that Lord Lucifer does it quickly." I allowed my eyes to drop and spat some lingering blood to the floor.

"Husband."

"Huh? You, the pagan witch married? Fuck no. you're lying. I know a demon king when I see one. That was Samael. There isn't any chance that you, a pathetic little murdering witch, can be married to one of the 8 kings." He sounded disgusted by my words.

"Samael is my husband."

I slowly entered the manor the next morning. Everyone but Mephisto, who had to be restrained, had been looking for Lilith since we were alerted. I was dreading entering their bed room.

"Aniue isn't really decent, oi-san." Amaimon mumbled as I reached for the handle.

"I have to check he hasn't killed himself." With a shaky hand, I push the door open. Everything, that wasn't Lilith's, was trashed on the floor. Mephisto was still sobbing, like I had left him, into Lilith's pillow. Through the hours I've been gone he's discarded his white blazer and waist coat, they both were shreds on the floor. Mephisto's body seemed to be convulsing with how violently he sobbed. He begged the air for her back, his voice though only coming out as whimpers like a wounded dog. His tail was wrapped tightly around himself. As if trying to hold himself together.

"Mephisto..." the moment his chosen name left my lips, it was silence. I could have heard a pin drop, it was that quiet. "We are gonna keep searching-" I ducked as a snow globe just missed me. It shattered on the wall behind me. Amaimon looking through the door it just flew through fearfully. "We will find her I promise, you just have to-"

"Don't you dare tell me to calm down." His voice was hoarse and most likely painful. "She's gone. My wife is gone. I can't take it." I knew his bond with Lilith was nothing to be joked about. Mephisto needs Lilith to remain mentally stable. He loves her so deeply that without her, he would rather not exist. "Give it back. Please, give it back" he broke into more sobs. "Lilith is gone why won't you let me go to her!" He screamed his voice cracking as he sobbed.

I backed out, knowing I could do nothing more. I knew nothing in that room could kill him. I had removed all demon weapons, including his umbrella that hid his sword. I slid down the door as Amaimon stared at me.
