Chapter 21

Jimmy

For 2 hours me and Jason sat down in Braelyn's room to have a deep heart to heart conversation. Jason mentioned that he had the same talk with Nick, Ahsha's boyfriend. Basically, he asked if I really love Braelyn and Caiden and if I ever want to marry her in the future. Of course, I do. I've been thinking about that a lot lately. I told Jason how I loved them more than life itself. That statement alone made him smile. He gave me his and Audrey's blessings. Jason said, I didn't need to ask for Audrey's permission, since she already calls me her son in law. For the first time, I seen him smile. Which is good, since he didn't smile or say anything to me while I was here. Jason apologized for not introducing himself to me, like a man earlier when I first came here. He also apologized for blaming me for Braelyn running away. While we were chatting I showed him the text she sent me. "Caiden was always a happy baby. Except for when you put him down, than he'll cry until you pick him up." He laughs as he reminisces.

"You know Jason, even though Braelyn told me half of the story, I want to know everything."

"About what?" He said, turning to me.

"The birth. What time did she go into labor? Who drove her? Who's the oldest? Did she used any drugs." I replied.

He rubs the back of his neck and laughs again, "ok, ok.. One question at a time, Jimmy. Let's see. I drove her, Audrey was in the back seat with her coaching her to breathe. That whole breathing shit, don't work." He laughs. "Jamiella is the oldest by 4 minutes. She went into labor at 12:23pm. Of course she got an epidural."

"Did she get a caesarean section?"

"Oh no, that's one thing she protested on. She said, "I'm going to push these babies out, even if one comes out of my ass." He shook his head.

I laughed, "what? She really said that?" All Jason could do was nod his head as he laughs.

"Oh my god, Braelyn, Braelyn! What are we going to do with you?" I laughed along.

"We're going to find her and Caiden for you. Come on, let's go downstairs." He stated before standing up.

"Wait, I have one more question." Jason looked at me. "What's your question?"

"Who's the oldest, Jace or Ahsha?"

He sat back down on the bed. "Jace is the oldest. He's 7 years older than Ahsha. 9 years older than Braelyn."

"How did you react when you found out Audrey was pregnant with Jace and Ahsha." I looked over to him. His face dropped. "Jace isn't my biological son, and Ahsha isn't Audrey's biological daughter."

"Ohhh, what happened to Jace dad and Ahsha's mom, if that's alright to ask."

"It's cool Jimmy. Jace's dad, Quinton decided he didn't want to be a man and help raise Jace with Audrey, so he left them. Ahsha's mom, Joyanne died during childbirth. It's so hard to raise a newborn by yourself while planning your wife's funeral. Joyanne would've been so proud of Ahsha, if she was still alive. When me and Audrey got married we adopted each other kid. 2 years later, Braelyn came along." He smiled and held the pictures of Braelyn in his hands. "My sweet baby girl." He whispered.

He snapped out of his trance and looked over at me before getting up again, "come on. Let's go downstairs. I think the detectives should be here already." I got up and followed him down the stairs and to the living room. Where we was met by two detectives.

"Hello, Jason." One of them greeted before shifting his eyes to me. "Jimmy Fallon is that you? My wife and kids loves you." I smiled and nodded my head, "yes it me. In the flesh." Before the detective could say anything else, Ahsha and Jace walked into the living room with a can of coca cola in their hands. I sat down in the chair Ahsha was sitting in earlier when I came downstairs with Audrey.
