I got out of the restroom near the beach, in my short and one of Calan's oversized T-shirts that read 'CAn't you teLL i'M tekEn !! '(A/N: see what I did there?), but it was either that or one that said 'Tell your B#@bs to stop staring at my eyes ', And I don't know about you but I'm not sure it's quite appropriate for a girl to wear a shirt like that in public.
It took me about half an hour in the restroom, but I finally managed to dry my shorts and underwear with the hand dryer, luckily the restroom was unocupied, so I had all the privacy I needed. I had to wear Calan's shirt, because mine refused to dry. I had pulled the shirt over my head. But like I said it was way too big for me, because it reached down toward my mid thigh, so I made a knot at the edge, that it could actually look like a shirt and not a dress. I could smell Calan's scent on the shirt and it smelled so good, I knew I shouldn't admit it to myself, but I could probably have gotten high from the smell of the shirt.
When I got out of the bathroom, Calan was outside leaning against the wall.
"Wow, girls take long, I mean seriously it's just a shirt "he said.
"..and I had to dry my shorts, otherwise there would have been a wet bum print on the shirt "I said gesturing to my now dry shorts.
He just roled his eyes, and said "Alright come on then. "
"Wait, where are we going now. "I asked walking after him after he started walking away.
"To get lunch "he said when I caught up with him.
Lunch? I looked down at my watch to see that it was indeed time for lunch, how did it get this late? School will be out in an hour.
We walked into a small 80's diner. On the outside it looked just like an old raddy cafe, but once we stepped inside, It was beautiful, the walls were painted a light shade of pink, there was a Juke-box in the corner playing 80's music.
"Calan is that you? " a lady, that looked about late fifties, or early sixties, asked from behind the counter of the bar, but quickly huried around and engulfed Calan in a hug,.
"Hey Marge "he said hugging her back.
"Who is this, is this you're new girlfriend? "she asked looking at me after their hug.
"No, she's just a friend. " he said.
"Hi I'm Rowan "I said extending my hand to shake hers, but she had other ideas, because she pulled me into a big hug, just like she did with Calan.
"Oh honey, It's lovely to meet you. You know you are the first girl tat Calan has ever brought to this place. "she said after she hugged me.
"Oh really? "I asked smirking at Calan when we sat down on the cute colourful barstools.
"Wait Calan this isn't the girl you've been talking about, is she? " Marge asked looking at Calan seriously.
"The one and only. " he said giving her a smile.
"Well then sweetheart it is an absolute pleasure to meet the famous Rowan, and to know you are one of the only..." but she was cut off by Calan who gave her a warning look. I couln't quite read the conversation they were silently sharing. Wierd. After some time she gave him a nod, and turned back to me.
"Anyway, what can I get you kids? "she asked.
I was just about to respond when Calan cut me off and ordered for me, "Two browny milkshakes. "she nodded and headed off toward the kitchen. There were not many other people in the diner, just an elderly couple in the corner, sharing tea.
