I woke up to my alarm blaring in my ear, so I headed off to my bathroom to complete my usual routine. Looking in the mirror, I noticed that I was stil wearing Calan's shirt and sweatpants, I wonder how he got them on me? . Then all the events of the previous night came back to me, I still couldn't completely wrap my head around the fact that I was not human, I hopped into the shower hoping the water might help me clear my head.
The voices were still in my head this morning, but I managed to control them a bit more. Getting out of the shower, my mind still racing, I brushed my teeth, got dressed, and applied some makeup.
After I ate a bowl of Fruitloops for breakfast, I still hadn't managed to calm my mind down, and I knew there was only one remedy. So I went over to my piano and started playing. I hadn't really gotten a chance to play since I got here.
I let my fingers tickle the keys, letting the notes of Yaruma's River flows in you, fill the house. My mind went blank, as I let the music flow through me. I swayed with the music. I enjoyed playing the piano, because it felt like the music transported me to a place where I can escape the events of the real world. As I finishes the piece, I felt way more relaxed and my mind was calm. I looked up at the clock, and noticed school starts in ten minutes, I quickly rushed to get my jacket and my bag before heading off to school.
When I walked into the school, I headed straight for my locker. When I got ther I knew something was off, Calan wasn't there, he's usually at my locker in the mornings. So I headed to his locker, but he wasn't there either. Strange, I thought. I headed to Laurel, to see if she hadn't seen him.
"Hey " she greeted me, happily.
"Hey, have you seen Calan?"
"Nope, maybe he skipped, you know how he is."She said closing her locker.
"Ok, but I'm gonna see if I can find him, so if I'm not in the class, would you tell the teacher, I didn't feet too good."
"Sure, but what is this all about, " she asked conserned.
"I'll tell you later ok?"
"Alright, but I will call you."She said giving me a hug.
All I had to do now, is ask Jay where I can find him, he should know since they are best friends.
"Hey Jay, "I said as I neared his locker.
"Hey what's up?" he asked.
"Do you know if there is a place where Calan would go if he isn't at school?" I asked him. He looked a bit in thought.
"Yes, but I don't know if I should tell you, Calan finds that place very sacred. " he said looking serious.
"Please Jay, I need to know. " I told him pleadingly.
"Alright, it's in that forest behind the village, there id this old rickety, bench next to the stream. .." he started, but he didn't need to continue, I knew exactly where it was, I was there only a few days ago.
"I know where that is!!!" I yelled, and started to head away.
But before I did I turned and thanked Jay, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, before running off to the front office, there was just one thing I had to do to confirm my suspission. I walked in and asked the Lady nehind the desk:
"Uhm. . excuse me, did Calan Stone's father make an excuse for him not being at school today? "
"No, but his uncle did. " she said, Yes! so I was right.
