I was walking down the school hallway with Laurel. The bell signalling our break had just rung and the students were scurrying through the halls like a stampede of elephants in Africa. Everyone of them talking happily, and doing their own thing, not one of them aware of what is actually going on in the world. All of them living normal lives, and I couldn't help but wish that I was one of them.
Laurel was next to me rambling on about something, about a dress and something to do with Jay. I really wanted to listen, but my mind wouldn't let me. It kept on replaying those things Calan said to me. And no matter how many times I wanted to push it to the back of my mind, something would always find a way to remind me of it.
Calan hasn't spoken to me for the past two days, neither has Yuki. And neither of them has been sitting with us at lunch. Jay has given me strange looks, begging me with his eyes to elaborate on why Calan is acting the way he did. But I didn't tell him, I figured Calan would have told him if he wanted to.
Through the maze of students, I saw Calan leaning up against his locker, talking to Yuki, she suddenly giggled at something he said and he smiled at her, but I could see that it was forced, his eyes looked sad, although he tried to mask it with his other features. They were talking intently, when his eyes caught mine, and I saw his smile falter a bit, but he quickly looked back at Yuki, regaining his composure. Then he did something I never thought he would do. He kissed her, and not just any kiss, he trapped her between his body and the locker behid her, kissing her dirty and passionately. All the girls glared at Yuki, while all the guys were looking at Cal with envy. But I kept my expression blanc, not letting my hurt show.
"...and then I ate the frog's intestantants. " Laurel said with a blanc expression on her face, but I couldn't manage to tear my eyes away from the couple making out, till a hand was waving infront of my face, snapping me out of my trance.
"Row, are you even listening to me, I've been talking random shit for the past two minutes, trying to get you're attention. " she said once I faced her.
"I'm sorry, I was just. ..uh.. distracted. " I said sparing a quick glance at the couple still making out, woah should't they have come up for air by now.
Laurel followed my gaze and gasped, "That jerk!! " she said rather loudly "I'm so sorry Row, do you want me to go and beat him up."she said holding her fists up.
I smiled at her, "Thanks Laurel, but no It's none of our bussiness, he can kiss whoever he wants. "
"Yeah, but. ..." then she shut up, and just gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Ok, but let's go, and this time I will listen, so you were saying? " I said pulling her outside to our spot.
"I wondered if you were ready for the Winter formal dance? " she said, and I gave her a confused look.
She sighed at me and said :"You know for someone as smart as you, you're not very sharp. These posteres have been up for the past month." and ripped a poster off from the waal handing it to me.
It read :

"This is in less than a month "I exclaimed in surprised.
"Yeah, that's what I've been saying when you weren't listening." Laurel said and crossed her arms.
