~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just stood there in shock and stared at the place that Mai had been standing not a few seconds earlier before she had magically disappeared into thin air. My mouth was still opened in shock and I was still trying to process what had just happened. As I stood there I realized that there were three things I could do to react to this.
1. Keep standing and staring in shock.
2. Rationally try to think about how something like this could happen.
3. Scream out profanities for the whole world to hear and basically just act like a crazy person until I calmed down.
Most people would choose either option number one or option number two. But being the awesome person I am I didn’t.
Yep that’s right I chose option three.
Which is how I ended up screaming out every swear word known to man for the next ten minutes of my life.
~
After I finally succeeded in screaming myself hoarse I collapsed onto the grass and lay there out of breath and panting for a few more minutes. Even after all that swearing I was still a bit freaked out. I had a right to be though since it’s not everyday someone sees a person literally disappear into thin air.
I sighed.
I think I’m going crazy.
And NOT in a good way.
I was moving to get up when I heard a rustling sound. I stopped moving.
“Where did that sound come from,” I thought slightly confused, “there’s no breeze.”
I heard rustling again and I saw one of the bushes on the edge of the clearing move slightly.
“Is it an animal or something?”
The bush rustled again.
“Please god let it be an animal.”
I stiffened and cussed under my breath when I heard a laugh resounding through the clearing.
“Who’s there?” the person laughed again, “Show yourselves.”
Three men emerged from the forest surrounding the clearing.
