Kyle POV;
It took an hour. An hour before the cleaners showed up. Sam is still lying on the bed, sound asleep.
The room started to fill with a rotten smell, and I had to put a damn plastic bag beneath the dead man's head so he wouldn't bleed all over the carpet.
"Finally," I say as I find the team outside the broken window.
Thankfully they brought a new one to replace it. The perks of being a top agent is that people do what you tell them to without questions.
"Sorry sir, we needed to clear the perimeter, and get a new window," one of the men says. I just wave him off and let them inside, urging them to hurry.
To be honest, I'm not really scared that Sam's parents will wake up, since they sleep like rocks and couldn't hear if a bomb were set off in here. No, it's Sam I'm worried about.
I don't want her to see what I did, or see a dead body for that matter. She's not a person that needs violence and death. She is someone that likes the calm life with no blood, killing, or pain.
I sigh and watch as the agents bring the body in a black body bag and out the window. After using five minutes on replacing the shattered window with a new one, they leave. I pick up my phone and dial Colton again, letting him know it's fixed.
"You okay?" He asks the moment he picks up.
I chuckle lightly before answering.
"Yeah, I'm good, but I need you to do something for me."
"Yes of course, what do you need?" He asks immediately.
I smile by the way he is. Always so eager to do anything that might help others.
You sound like a girl. Shut up.
"Tell boss that we moved location," I say.
"Ehm sure, yeah I'll do that," he says hesitantly.
"What's wrong?" I ask and wait for him to tell me what's bothering him. After fifteen years of friendship I know when he wants to say something.
"It's just that; shouldn't you come in? I am already in the car outside the house and if you just tell me I can arrange getting Sam to safety," he says fast, waiting for my reaction.
"I can't make her go through that. Let's wait until after Christmas, I can persuade her into coming with me," I say. Just as Colton is about to reply I cut him off, knowing what he's going to suggest.
"No, I will not sedate her." Colton sighs and gives me a small 'fine' before we hang up.
The room turns quiet and I walk back to the bed, laying down beside Sam.
I look at her for the longest time before my eyes start to close by themselves, my body beginning to feel tired. It's been a long day and it is already past midnight so I think I deserve some sleep.
With that thought I slide beneath the covers and settle myself beside Sam, stroking some hair away from her face. God, how I want to kiss her. She's just too tempting. I sigh and leave a light, feathery kiss on her forehead before falling asleep too.
Samantha POV;
Lifeless, brown eyes. Just staring at me through thick, gray air. His pale hand starts to move towards me, slowly. His bloody lips turn up to a sick smile as his hand comes closer and closer to my face.
Sobs are leaving me as I try to scoot away from him, but I hit a wall. His eyes become red with blood, pouring out all around me.
I scream and scream, trying to get away from the terrifying man in front of me. It is for no vain, his cold hand takes a hold of my throat and I begin to squirm around, gasping for air.
