Kyle is hiding something. I just know it. This whole time we've been eating dinner he has been sitting in silence, his eyes focused on his food. It was okay the first thirty minutes, because then I was too busy with my own food, but now I've had it.

"What is up with you tonight?" Kyle looks up from his now empty plate and frowns slightly at me.

"What do you mean?" He asks. I scoff and roll my eyes. "Those are the first words you've said the last hour."

Kyle shrugs and send me a small smile, but it doesn't reach his eyes. My own eyes narrow and I watch him suspiciously where he sits.

"What are you worried about?" I ask a little softer now. He sighs and takes a sip from his water before leaning his body back against the chair.

"Christmas is in two days," he suddenly says. I just wait for him to continue and after a few seconds of silence he does, and the words he says is not exactly the ones I want to hear. "After that I need to bring you in, as well as your parents."

My arms crosses over my chest and I look at him in disbelief.

"No." My voice comes out sharp. Kyle looks at me, keeping his mouth closed. Since it doesn't seem like he is going to say anything, I use this as an opportunity to question him.

"Why haven't you just arrested them?" Kyle almost laughs. A cold smile spreading across his face.

"It's not that easy," he says.

"And why is that? You already know where many of them are, so why not just take them?" I press on.

For a moment, he seems reluctant to tell me anything else. Just as I think he is going to say something, he gets up from his seat and walk to the door. "Come on, let's go. We can't stay in the open for too long," he says and motion for me to follow him.

"No, you are going to answer my question." I can see his jaw clench as he tries to control his annoyance. Seeing this, I should probably not provoke him, but sadly, I have never been very good at following my own advices.

"Sam, I am not in the mood for this right now. Let's go," he says sternly. I keep still, letting my eyes move around in the almost empty eatery.

Since we decided to eat at a burger place -because I begged him to eat something unhealthy - we are mostly alone. Other people are enjoying their last day out before everything closes, at some fancy restaurant probably.

Footsteps moves to me and I move my gaze up to an annoyed-looking Kyle. I smile sweetly a him.

"You're not going to move, are you?" He asks, a sigh leaving him. I shake my head, keeping the smile on my face.

"I'll tell you when we get back." I think for a moment, weighing over the options. If we go home now, he can simply ignore me the whole night, but if we stay here, he has to tell me to get me out of the seat.

Kyle seems to understand where my thoughts are going as he bends down to my level. His lips brushing past my ear as he whispers, "if you don't get up right now, I will carry you out, kicking and screaming."

My head whips to him, my glare settling on his smug face. "You wouldn't." He smirks and moves away from me.

"Oh, but I would." For a little moment I just sit there and stare at him, before the feeling of defeat takes over. With a huff I push him away and get up from my chair, walking in front of him out the door.

"You're such a bastard, you know that?" I say the second we get in his car. Kyle chuckles and start driving down the road in the direction of the house.
