Thomas hasn't even been here for five minutes, and I already want to kick him out. The way his eyes glide over me, a cold smirk plastered on his face.
"Come on you three, sit down. We can talk for a while," mom says and motion us over to the couch. Thomas nods, his eyes continuing to watch me.
"So how do you know each other?" Mom asks as we finally get comfortable, or as comfortable a person can be in this situation. I still don't know what to think of Thomas. The way Kyle is glaring at him doesn't exactly point to the good side. Does this mean that he is the one that betrayed the team? And if he is, how come he managed to pass Colton?
"Oh, we go way back. We are really not that interesting to talk about. What I would really like to know is; how did these two lovebirds meet?" Thomas asks and stares intently at me.
Kyle grabs my hand and intertwine our fingers, giving it a little squeeze. I would have been shocked by the gesture if I wasn't too focused on the foul man in front of me.
"There is not much to tell, really." I look up at Kyle and see him struggling to keep his anger in. I lay my free hand on his bicep, trying to calm him. Luckily it works, but Thomas notices how I affect him, and that awful smirk is back on his face.
"I wouldn't say that," he mutters lowly. Suddenly his phone rings, but he keeps his eyes between me and Kyle. Slowly he brings his phone out of his pocket, glancing slightly at the screen before turning to my parents.
"I am so sorry, but my wife wants me back. It was really nice to meet you two, I hope this won't be the last time. Kyle, Samantha, maybe you could follow me to the door."
The urge to resist, and leaving my parents alone, is running through me, but I still get up from my seat. Kyle follows behind, his glare pointed at Thomas as he puts a protective arm around my waist and pulls me to him.
We follow behind him to the door, and as soon as my parents are out of hearing range, Kyle lets go of me. He pushes Thomas hard against the wall, his arm pressing against his throat, cutting his access for air.
"What the hell are you playing at?" Kyle practically growls out.
"Calm down buddy, I thought we were friends," Thomas wheeze through short breaths. I stand there, wide eyed, not knowing what to do.
"How the hell could you do this to the team?" Thomas chuckles coldly, digging his fingernails down in Kyle's arms.
"You shouldn't use your time on that question. If you don't let me go out of here in sixty seconds, Cole isn't going to be very happy," he says.
"What did you do to him?" Kyle asks, shoving Thomas harder against the wall. He winches visibly, but his smirk is still plastered on his face.
"He really shouldn't be sleeping at the job," Thomas says, and with a fast move, he twists out of Kyle's grip. In his hand he now holds a gun, pointed directly at Kyle, the tip almost hitting his forehead.
With a last wink in my direction, he slips out the front-door. "Shit," Kyle mutters and picks up his phone from his pocket.
He brings it to his ear and after a few five seconds he curses again and runs out the door. I am fast in his heals and run after him, only to find him by the black van where we were earlier tonight.
The night is getting dark, the snow starting to fall down again. The ground is covered by it, and I almost slip as I run towards Kyle who pulls the backdoors open. "Fuck! Cole!" Kyle curse just as I stop beside him, watching with wide eyes.
Colton is sitting against the wall where we left him last, only now his body is tied up with a thick rope. It goes around him more times than I can count, making it impossible for him to move. His head hangs low with blood flowing down the side of his forehead.
