No one can ever predict if things like that will happen, or even when, where, or who they'll happen to.

When you see things like that on television, you just see the images on the screen, listen to the emotionless report of the news anchor, and you shake your head, feeling sorry for the people in the story. Then you move on. It doesn't affect your, so you go on with life.

But when it affects you, hurts you, numbs you heart, your emotions, kills you...your life stops, because the star it used to revolve around died. Suddenly, you're alone in an empty orbit, circling the empty space the explosion leaves.

It stops your life, pulls at your heartstrings, makes you weep and scream and beg, because sometimes, you can never go on.
