Halloween Oneshot

A/N: Because I got one vote each for the playlist and the oneshot, I'll be doing both. This is the oneshot (obviously!) and the playlist will be up shortly. Enjoy, fellow demigods! (^ з^)

Lou Ellen glanced at Will, who was wedged in between Travis, Connor, and the car door, fiddling with his t shirt.

“C’mon, Will. It won’t be that scary.” She laughed, looking back at the road.

Will grimaced. “I’m only here because you agreed to help me with Math, Lou. Remember that. You know I hate stuff like this.”

Travis snickered. “Whatever you say, sunspot.”

Will groaned and pressed his cheek to the cool glass window, the mere thought of what his friends had planned next already making him nauseous. “I still can’t see why we can’t go trick or treating like everyone else.” He mumbled, looking out to see a range of costumed children wandering up and down the street, knocking on strangers’ doors and asking for candy.
“When have you ever known someone in this bunch to be like ‘everyone else’?” Connor stated, reaching over to flick his nose.

“Good point.” Will thought, before slumping against the door as Lou Ellen pulled up next to a sign that read “HAUNTED CORN MAZE; HADES HALLOWEEN FAIR SPECIAL”.

“We’re here!” she announced, and Will’s squeak was drowned out by the Stoll brothers’ whoops of glee. They dashed out, placing bets on the person who would scream first. “Dibs on Solace!” Connor crowed, leaving Travis to reluctantly put five bucks on Lou Ellen.

They all walked over to the cashier’s desk. “Hello…uh, Charon. Could we have four tickets for the maze, please?” Lou Ellen asked.

The guy behind the counter gave them a bright smile that looked as real as fat-free sugar as he gave them four wristbands, taking the money they had placed on the counter. “Enjoy!” he beamed, the smile more of a ferocious baring of the teeth. Will was already prepared do the exact opposite.

“Guys, it’s probably best if we just-“ Will began as he walked into the maze.

The Stolls ran off into the maze, whooping and laughing.

“Stick together.” He finished, sighing.

“They’ll be fine, William. Stop fussing.” Loy Ellen sighed, pulling him into the tall, leafy walls of corn.

“It’s not them I’m worried about.” Will muttered gloomily, letting himself get dragged.

This was going to be a long night.

They made it halfway through with minimal scares, Lou Ellen acting tough and making sarcastic comments. Will would have praised her for her formidable courage but first, he had to stop his teeth chattering.

Then they heard Travis and Connor scream.

Lou Ellen’s head snapped back. “Something’s wrong.” She gasped, pulling Will back down the path. Will was hot on her heels as she turned a corner, echoing the same thing in his mind. The Stolls would never scream at anything here, never—

Then a hand shot out of the leafy wall next to him. Lou’s expression switched to one of alarm and she let out a scared yell, getting cut off as it pulled her into the maze.

“Lou!” Will screamed. He crashed through the stalks, trying to find his friend. He closed his eyes, trying to block the leaves that smacked his face, his pulse racing, taking short, shallow breaths as he ran in random directions, yelling for his friends.

When he opened them, he was completely, utterly lost in the dark maze.

Nico was scarfing down a McDonald’s Happy Meal when he heard footsteps. Finally. The first person today make it to his part of the maze.

He smirked, pulling his mask down on his face as he got up, wiping some fake blood down his ripped shirt and jeans, revving up the chainsaw, taking slow steps forwards.

Percy, who was normally dressed as a pirate, usually charged out, swords flashing and yelling threats, but Nico preferred this approach: making the next victim squirm before jumping out. Plus, he couldn’t see much in this mask, and tripping and falling on your face was not scary.
