Shit. Shit. Shit.
Why in the ever loving hell is he here. Or am I literally that drunk to where I'm hallucinating? Hoping for the best, I close my eyes tightly, take a deep breath and slowly open them again.
Nope.
He's still there.
Staring at me.
In all of his damn California gloriousness.
Fuck.
"Uhhh, hey Eric." I slur, still holding onto the door thinking that if I open it further he may go away, noting that I came here for one reason only.
"Hey you. Didn't think I'd see you here. Thought you would maybe go up to your parents this weekend."
"Nope. Mandy and I wanted to get away from Rainsville and just have a fun weekend with friends." I say.
I didn't plan on seeing your ass here either. I thought to myself, wishing that someone would come looking for me in the hopes of being rescued so I wouldn't have to go through this maddening hell.
Eric digs his foot into the dirt while he runs his hands through his hair, a habit of his when he is frustrated or nervous. I stand there, waiting for him to either say something else or hopefully walk away when a blonde Barbie doll walks up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"I've been looking everywhere for you baby! I thought I had lost you." She says in a baby voice while drunkenly smiling at me.
Eric sighs, unwrapping her arms from his waist. "I told you I'd be there in a minute, that I needed to get something from the vehicle." His voice is clipped. I can tell he is irritated that she showed up at this exact moment.
Barbie gives her best pouty face and crosses her arms across her chest. "It's been like ten minutes. I need you to come back so you can keep me warm while we finish the game. I'm cold." She attempts to do a sexy wink, but instead it comes off looking like a creepy baby doll that has been possessed due to all the alcohol in her system. I stifle back a laugh as I watch this train wreck unfold before me. Him trying to act like she is nothing, whereas she thinks she's a hot piece of ass that is in dire need of attention.
"So, I'm gonna do what I came here to do." I say as I point inside the port a pot. "Have a good rest of the night." And with that, I walk in, letting the door slam behind me and slide the lock over.
For the love of God, please let them be gone by the time I'm finished. I think while gathering toilet paper off the holder.
Once I'm finished, I stand inside for at least three minutes longer than normal, breathing through my mouth as I try not to inhale the god awful smell that lingers in here from everyone else. I try to listen to see if they are still out there talking or heavens knows what else and when I don't hear anything, I slide the lock back and open the door. To my relief, I don't see Eric or his mystery woman and with that, I run back to Sarah's car, hoping they didn't go back in without me.
Luckily, everyone is still there when I stumble upon her car.
"Took you long enough. We thought you may have died in one of those rank ass port a pots." Mandy laughs, "I still don't know how you went into one of those. I would have rather squatted behind a tree." She laughs again as she finishes off her bottle of beer.
I take one out of the cooler, knowing I need it before I head back into the stadium for the last quarter, and chug it.
"Whoa-ho, killer! Look at you throwin' it back like it's nothin'. If you can do that again, I'll buy you nachos inside." Thomas smirks because usually I can't do that back to back, since I normally like to take my time drinking beer. Little did he know that with what I just encountered, he would be buying me the super nachos tonight because I was about to do two more just like the first.
