Seasonal Sisters (season series book 1)

Chapter 6

A week had past before they knew it. Waiting.
The four men would go out looking for food always in pears, never alone. They would take turns staying up at night and when they would all yall asleep Izzy the dog would stand watch.
A week has gone by but the beautiful snow and grass and trees and leaves and the breeze remained.
The guys shared food and one day Liam decided to watch the falling snow in a bottle so it could melt and turned into water.
They discused what was in the coffens. Boldir insisteded that what they were were humans or very special elves that had to cause the pretty scene before them.
A week has passed and the other three were convinced that Boldir was right but neither of them said it aloud.
They stayed alert because with each passing day it seemed like the demons outside were getting closer and closer to the mountain. Making it harder and harder for them to leave the cave without being seen by the evil creatures.
On the eighth day they sat around a fire that they made They had used the dead tree limbs from outside instead of the ones from inside. They even build the fire on big rocks they found in the cave careful not to burn the grass or flowers.
"So how long do you think its gonna take?" Glen asked.
"I dont know. Its already been a week." Boldir answered.
"Maybe we should break them open." Ulric suggested.
"No, that'll probably cause more harm then good." Liam said.
Glen frowned. "Izzy get away from there!" He yelled.
"So then we should just wait?" Ulric asked.
"Yes." Was all Liam said.
They ate in silence for a minute until Glen yelled at Izzy to get away from the coffens again.
"Has anyone ever really checked to see if the coffens were glued shut or something?" Ulric asked.
Liam was about to say yes when he stopped and thought about it. He remembered when he first got here that he was gonna touch one but then it had felt kinda hot so he just left it alone.
"No." Glen was the first to answer.
"Me neither." Boldir shook his head making his pointed ears flop against his head.
Liam just shook his head no.
"Well i say we try it." Ulric said as he stood up.
The rest of them followed as he les them toward the center of the cave where the coffens were at.
"Pick one to open." Ulric said as he stood in front of the glowing whit one.
Boldir choose the yellow one.
Liam got the red.
And Glen had the green.
"Ready" Ulric looked at the other three. They nodded. "Set" he held his hand out, the others followed. "GO!"
They all reached for the coffens at the same time but just as quickly the four of them jumped back.
"Ouch."
"Shit."
"Damn it."
"Mother fu..." Liam trailed off as he held his hand to his chest. "Thats what happened to me the first time."
"And you didnt say anything." Ulric rubbed his burning hand.
"Thought i imagined it." Liam shrugged.
"Damn but that shit burned." Glen said. 
Izzy went to go stand by Glen and as she passed the green coffen her whole left side brushed up against it.
"Hey did you see that?" Boldir asked.
"See what?" Ulric looked around.
"Come here Izzy." Boldir crouched down.
Izzy wagged her tail as she looked at Glen for permission when he nodded she walked up to Boldir.
"What are you gonna do?" Glen asked going to stand next to them.
"Look." Boldir grabbed Izzy front paw and inched it closer to the yellow coffen in front of him.
"Hey man what are you doing!" Glen shouted as he made a grab for Izzy.
"Watch." Boldir said.
Liam, Ulric and Glen watched as he flattened the dogs paw on the coffen. Izzy oblivious to what was going on around her she happily licked Boldir's face.
"Eww." Boldir wipped away the saliva.
"Maybe it doesnt work on animals?" Ulric said.
"Then turn and find out." Liam said.
Ulric looked at him but a moment later a big wolf with yellow eyes and gray fur had taken Ulric's place.
Boldir stepped away from the yellow coffen to let Ulric through. The wolf slowly held out his big paw touched the side and with a yelp jumped back.
"Damn, that was hotter then the first one I touched." Ulric who was now a human again said.
"I dont get it why was Izzy able to touch it and Ulric couldnt." Boldir frowned.
"Alright its yalls turn." Ulric said as he got up from the floor.
"What?" Glen looked at him.
"No way in hell am i gonna be the only one to get burned twice."
"You want us to touch the coffens again, are you serious?" Liam's brows fowarded.
"That's right."
The guys made faces but they did what he asked. Ulric stood back to watch as Boldir stepped up to the white one, Glen had the red and Liam took the green.
"Ok,...go" Ulric smiled as they reached for the coffens.
They each sucked in a breath.
"Damn, that was hotter." Liam said with a grimace on his face.
With a satisfied grin Ulric turned and headed back to the fire and food.

That night Liam took the first watch all was quiet all he could hear was the sound of the other three breathing.
Izzy was awake once again playing around the coffens. Then she would try catching the snow or would roll around in the grass.  She was the only one having the time of her life here in the cave.
He on the other hand was getting hungry. Hungry not for the normal food that he ate with the guys but for his kinda food.
He felt his fangs sharpen as he heard three strong hearts beating coming from three different directions.
He licked his lips.
He frowned because now he could hear four.
