I woke up, hearing my mom yell. Quickly, I snuck myself downstairs, seeing what the problem was.

"If you think for one second you can do that, I swear that you'll be hearing from my lawyers! Don't think I don't have the capability of getting a restraining order on you!" She hung up, putting her hands over her face.

Mom started sobbing, making me jump to her side.

"What's wrong?"
She sighed, looking me dead in the eyes.

"Just... just know I do whatever I think's best for you. I love you."
"I love you too," I said, pulling her in to a tight hug.

"So are you going over to your friends, since it's the weekend?"
I thought, then said," I don't know. I think I'm just going to have a day to myself, and if she wants to join, she can."
"Okay, have fun."

I threw on some clothes, mascara, curled my hair, and then left. I didn't care too much about how I looked today.

I decided to go to the mall. It's been awhile since I've visited Petra.

Petra is a woman in her 50s who is the sweetest thing you could ever meet. She always gave Parker and I free food if we came over, and would pay out of her own pocket, even if we said we could pay. She worked at a pretzel stand, called Philly's Pretzels.

"Mae! How've you been?"

"I've been good, how about you?"
"Just been a little busy over here, where's Parker?" She looked at me with curiosity, making my stomach twirl into a knot.

I couldn't tell Petra, it would break her heart.

"He's-"
"Right here, you know how fast Mae moves."
Parker walked up behind me, wrapping his arm around my waist. My feet felt light, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Parker! You know you have to watch her!"

"Yep, she's just messing with me," he said, looking into my eyes with happiness.

"Well, it was good to see you too!"
"Same," I said, with a full smile.

Parker and I walked away, and once he saw that Petra couldn't see us, he unwrapped himself from me.

"You know, if you're going to see her let me know." He looked at me, and instead of that happiness, it was nothing, once more.

I clenched with anger. My hands tightened into fists, but I didn't want to blow up. I give up.

Instead I plastered a smile on my face, and said," Okay. I didn't think I was supposed to tell you everything."
And after, that, I completely walked away. I heard Parker sigh, but I didn't really care. I was too frustrated with him. He kept messing with me, one moment he's completely sweet, the next he's a stranger.

I headed towards the outside, feeling tears burst. I walked down to a park bench, putting my hands on my face.

"Are you okay?"
I looked up, seeing a well- built figure look down at me.

"I'm fine."
"No you aren't," he said, looking at my facial expression carefully. "Do you need to talk about it?"
"Well, I just met you."
"Oh, I can't believe I haven't told you yet!" He jumped around, making me chuckle. "My name's Jordyn, your's?"
"Mae."
"Nice to meet you Mae." He smiled at me, he looked genuinely happy too.

"So, how about we walk around and I buy you food?"
I laughed, and then looked at him, shaking my head yes.

"Then let's go!" He held his hand out for me, and I took it. The whole way there, Jordyn skipped, making me laugh continuously.
