Chapter 12

A/N: I'm back! Sorry for making you all wait. BTW Doing a bit of time jump! :)

Maya POV

Things have been going well as far as having a relationship with my dad goes. School and classes have been so stressful. It's caused me to have anxiety and be down a little bit. I'm now 30 weeks into my pregnancy. My belly has grown so much in just a month. I can't believe in 10 weeks Lucas and I will finally be able to meet our baby girl. My dad insisted that he let him buy Kinleigh's dresser and changing table to go with the crib so I caved in and allowed him to do that for me. Even though Mom wasn't a fan of my dad she was happy for me that things were going so well. Today was my baby shower that Riley, Mom, and Topanga were putting on. I was trying to find an outfit to wear and was getting frustrated with how everything looked on me. 

"Maya you look beautiful in everything you've tried on. " Lucas said as he got up off the bed and walked over to me. 

I sighed "I can't even see my feet anymore. Why did you have to knock me up, Huckleberry?" I said as I buried my head into his chest. 

Lucas chuckled "Because you do things to my body that I can't control. Wear the cute yellow top with the black pants. You looked adorable in it." 

I pulled a way and placed my hand on my growing tummy "I keep telling myself that this little nugget will be worth it in the end." 

"You're right. Get dressed so I can take you to your baby shower." he said before leaning down giving me a small peck on the lips. 

Lucas went to pull away from me and I pulled him back to me because I felt like it. I pulled his face to mine and our lips met. I intensified that kiss and brushed my tongue along his. He pulled away and I smiled at him. 

"You really know how to kill me. I love you."  he smiled .

"I love you too." 

After getting dressed and doing my hair I met Lucas out in the living room. He took me dropped me off at Topanga's and then went to hang out with Farkle. I walked into the Matthews apartment after being let in and my jaw dropped at how beautiful it was decorated for my baby shower. Riley chose purple as the color theme and went with the cheshire cat decorations. Got to love Riley and her love for Purple cats. She also had Kinleighs name in big purple and white letters.  Riley had invited some of our classmates over and of course her Grandparents were there as well. 

Riley ran over to me with excitement "I hope you like what I did for you peaches." she said as she grabbed my hand. 

"I love it Riles.  It couldn't be more perfect."  I said with a smile. 

"Your mom handled all of the food except the cake and cupcakes. I had someone make it for you." she said as we walked over to the table. 

"You guys did amazing." I said and then gave her a hug. "Kineligh is blessed to have so many people who love her." 

I looked over and saw my mom and Topanga talking in the kitchen with Lucas's Mom. McKenzie was sitting on my Mom's lap. She looked adorable in a cute little dress with her hair in pigtails.  I walked over and sat down by Topanga who wrapped her arm around me and pulled me into a hug. 

"I can't believe my first baby is having a baby." she smiled and then kissed me on the cheek. 

"I know right? Can you believe we will finally get to meet her in two months?" 

"You're going to be such a great Mom, Maya." Kenzie said and I looked over at her. 

"Thank you peanut." I said with a smile. 

"I mean it you take good care of me." she said. 

"I agree. I'm so thankful for you Maya for so many things. Being a positive in my sons life, taking such good care of my little girl. I don't have to worry when she's with you. You're the best babysitter I've ever had." 

"Awe thank you Bethany that means a lot. Thank you to all of you for helping out with this baby shower. It looks so beautiful." 

Riley gathered us all in the living room and we played a few games and then she had me open gifts. I let McKenzie help me open the presents. We got a bunch of really cute onesies, Mom got me a beautiful bassinet for her that Lucas and I could keep beside our bed as well as a Swing and baby bath for her. Topanga and Riley got me a High Chair, a bunch of baby bottles, and diapers. It seemed from all the items we got that were set. I need to buy her some more clothes for her and get her some more sleepers. Lucas and I had already talked about doing a shopping trip before she is born. 

Lucas helped load up a lot of the stuff into Shawn's truck and then we took it to our house where they unloaded everything. My dad stopped by later that evening to see what all I got. I was excited to show him. Things were really looking up for he and I. The more that everything became so real as far as Kinleigh goes the more nervous I got. I didn't tell Lucas but a lot of thoughts were running through my head as far as school went. I didn't know how I was going to finish the second semester being that Kinleigh would be before right before it started. I've really been thinking about if I should hold off a year on school. Once dad left I changed into a pair of Lucas sweat pants and one of his t-shirts. He was on the couch watching a game when I went and sat down beside him. 

"Lucas I've had so much anxiety lately." I said as I leaned into him. 

He picked up the remote and muted the TV before turning to look at me "About what? You know I've wondered if something was bothering you. I actually planned on talking with you tonight." 

I looked up at him and he looked down at me "About everything. Kinleigh will be here in 2 months, school has been hell, what am I going to do for my second semester of NYU? Kinleigh is due on the 27th there is no way I'll be able to leave her after 4 weeks. Am I going to be a good Mom to her? I just have all these thoughts running through my head and the more real this gets the worse I feel. I think this anxiety is causing me to feel down." 

"You know what Maya if you need to take a semester off of school then do it. By the time that school starts up in the fall she will almost be a year old. And you are going to be a wonderful Mom. Why would you ever doubt that?" he said with concern shown on his face. 

"Because I'm so young. Everything is becoming so real and it's scaring me. I've wondered if I made the right decision at times." I said and I felt so ashamed to admit that. 

"Maya, that's normal for you to have your moments like that but once she gets here your doubts will will all go away. " he answered. "How is everything with your Dad? You aren't feeling this way because of him are you?" 

"No not at all. He has actually been so wonderful Lucas. I think it's just everything becoming so real. " 

"Well I'm so glad that you talked to me and please Maya continue to, If you are feeling anxious promise you will come to me." he said. 

I nodded "I promise you will. I love you so much Lucas." I said and he leaned down to kiss me. 

"I love you too. Lets get your mind of all of this and watch a movie." he said and I smiled at him. 

I'm so thankful for Lucas. He is my rock and I don't know where I'd be without him. I knew that I could always count on him to help me through anything.
