Maya POV

Mom took off today so that she could take me home from the Hospital. Lucas hated to leave me but I told him he had to go to school. On our way home we stopped at the admissions office and told them I needed withdraw from the semester due to medical reasons with my pregnancy. We were walking back to the car and I got into the passenger side and buckled myself up.

"I hope I made the right choice." I said as she started the car.

"Trust me baby girl you did. It's important that this baby doesn't come out right now." she as she placed her hand on my knee. "Besides once she is born you are going to be glad you did it."

I looked over at her with a confused expression on my face "What do you mean, Mom?"

"If I could have stayed home with you when you were a baby I would have done it in a heartbeat but i had to make a living. This will give you the opportunity to be with Kinleigh and also babysit McKenzie which you get paid pretty good to do until she is old enough that you can leave her so you can work."

"Yeah I have to find a job after she is born otherwise Lucas and I are going to be screwed on paying for this apartment. " I replied.

"I could probably get you a job at the diner. You would get good tips." she answered.

"What would I do with Kineligh though?" I asked her.

"You know what we don't need to worry about that yet. We will figure this out. Just focus you on your baby girl." my mom replied.

Mom drove me to my apartment and then Shawn came by to pick her up. My dad texted me earlier and wanted to stop by and see me. I told him it was fine for him to stop by. When I got home I changed into a pair of sweat pants and one of Lucas's t-shirts. I was laying on the couch watching a rerun of Reba when there was a knock at the door. I knew it was my dad stopping by. I was excited to see him.

"Hi, I'm so glad you came over.." I said with a smile.

"Of course. When you told me you texted me about being in the hospital I wanted to see you but I figured it would be better to let you get your rest and then come see you when you got out." he replied.

I moved to the side so he could come in and then once he walked in I shut the door. "Yeah it was chaotic last night and by the time everyone left I just wanted to rest."

We walked in and sat down on the couch. I pulled the blank it over me and looked up at him with a smile.

"So how are you doing? Is everything okay with the baby?" he asked.

"Yeah she's fine. I just need to take it easy. I dropped out of courses at NYU. I'm going to wait until next year." I replied. "I can't do them anymore. It was stressing me out and causing me too much anxiety. After seeing that girl Lucas was studying with last night kiss him it was my breaking point."

"What? Lucas kissed another girl?" he said and I could tell he was becoming annoyed.

"She apparently kissed him. I mean I'm still upset about it but I don't think Lucas was lying to me about it." I answered.

"Well what exactly happened?"

"McKenzie and I went to the Library at NYU to see him because he was working on a project for one of his classes. I wanted surprise him with food and also wanted to see him. When we got there they were kissing." I answered. "It just happened before I walked in."

"And you are sure that Lucas isn't lying to you?" he asked me.

"Yeah I'm sure Dad. I could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't lying. He actually seemed really upset and distraught at the hospital." I said and when I looked up my dad was looking at me with a smile on his face. I was confused as to why until I realized I had called him "Dad" for the first time since meeting him. "I..I...I'm sorry." I stuttered
