Amelda was finally able to walk. Harley followed her everywhere. She was afraid Amelda would fall. I was sure my daughter would stay up. Amelda could speak in frayed sentences and words. Harley was trying her hardest to get Amelda to speak clearly. I was staying out of it. Amelda was always sleeping with us so I couldn't do anything with Harley. I loved my kid but she was ruining my relationship sort of. Harley was distant still. I could barely ever reach her. Leaving was becoming an option again, but Harley would just track me down.

"PUDDIN, LISTEN I GOT HER TO SAY TO IT!!!"

Harley came rushing into my office carrying Amelda. She placed the tiny 5 year old on my desk and smiled.

"Say it again for Mommy."

Amelda looked at me. "Daddy hates me, Mommy."

Harley blinked and looked at me. "That's not what I got her to say. Amelda, tell Daddy what Mommy told you."

"Daddy should leave. He is boring."

Harley's mouth dropped open. "I didn't say that."

I stood up. "I'm leaving."

Harley looked at me. "Puddin, that's not what I said!"

"Sure it wasn't, Harls."

I left my office and walked out of the hideout. Going back to my apartment, I locked the door and refused to walk outside ever again.
