Chapter 15

Maya's P.O.V

"Riley?" the tan brunettes eyes fluttered opened.

"Maya.." she said weakly while trying to sit up.

"Stop Riles you need to rest" I said while grabbing her and lying her back down.

I turned towards the door so i could go and get the doctor but before i took my first step i heard sobbing.

I turned around and saw Riley curled up in a ball crying.

"Riley what's wrong sweetie?" I said and she covered her ears. 

"I'm fine i'm fine i'm fine" she said repeatedly.

i took her hands off of her ears and she screamed "Don't hurt me"

"Riley you're safe its okay" I said while jumping in the bed next to her and pulling her into a hug.

"Please don't leave me Maya" she looked up at me with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I promise you Riley I'm not going to leave you ever" she put her head down on my chest and we both fell asleep.

Riley's P.O.V

I opened my eyes and looked around the room.

Where am I?

This isn't the hospital.

I quickly sat up and started to panic.

I ripped the blankets off my legs and walked to the door.

I slowly turned the door knob and opened the door.

I looked to my left and to my right it was a long empty hallway, everything was white.

I walked out of the room and wandered down the hallway, i ran my hand down the wall feeling the smooth surface.

I stopped in front of a door.

What could be on the other side?

Maybe its someone who could tell me where the hell i am.

I knocked on the door and turned the door knob. 

I opened the door and inside the walls were covered in pen and the paint had been scratched off, the legs of the chairs had been broken off and the bed sheets were torn and spread around the room.

I looked around the room and there was a girl sitting on the floor in the corner of the room with her knees up to her chest, she was slowly rocking herself backwards and forwards. 

I tiptoed over to her and she turned around when she heard the floor creak underneath me.

"Who are you and what do you want?" she said while wiping tears from her pale skin.

She turned her head so her long red hair was covering her face but i could still see her big round dark brown eyes. 

"I just want to know where I am and how to get out" I said while nervously playing with the bottom of my shirt.

"You can't get out everyone has tried the only way to get out is to get adopted and no one wants a teenager so get comfortable" she said while turning back to face the wall.

I'm in an orphanage, why is this happening?  

"But i need to get back to someone" I paced back and forth trying to figure out how to get out.

"If you are talking about the pale blonde chick she left you a note when they dropped you off" she stood up and handed me an envelope.

I opened the envelope and started to read it.

Dear Riley, 

I'm sorry this has happened.

While you were sleeping the doctors were asking about your parents and where you will be staying. 

We told them about your parents and they rang the orphanage and well you know the rest.

I couldn't let you go, i didnt want you to go alone so i was in the car with you.

They gave you some kind of medicine that would make you sleep for a while so you wouldn't wake up until you got there.

Mum and I fought as hard as we could but there was nothing we could do, that doesn't mean we are giving up on you.

I'm going to do everything i can to get you back baby I promise.

But I don't know how long that is going to be.

So when you are away make the most of your time try and be happy make friends have fun please.

Do things you normally wouldn't do, but just remember im always here and I'm not going to stop until I have you back.

"Hey are you okay?" the red haired girl said while looking wiping the tears that were streaming down my face.

"Yeah I'm fine" I said while wiping the remaining tears off of my face.

"Can i ask you something?" I said quietly "go ahead" she said while sitting back down on the floor with her legs crossed in front of her this time.

"Why is your room trashed?" she giggled at my question "I keep it like this so when couples come looking to adopt they come in here and think im insane" we both laughed.

"Why do you want them to think you are insane?" her smile faded and her eyes began to fill with tears.

"I'm waiting for my parents to come and get me" she said softly.

"How long have you been waiting for them?" I said while sitting cross legged in front of her.

She looked down at her lap and let a tear escape from her big brown eyes "I've been waiting since i was 7, I'm 16 now".

"Oh well hopefully they come back just think positive" i said while faking a smile.

"Are you straight?" she blurted out and looked up into my brown eyes. 

"No I'm not why?" I said while fidgeting with my hands.

She leaned forwards and smashed her lips onto mine.

For a moment I forgot all the crappy stuff that was happening and nothing else mattered.

She pulled away with a smile on her face "I'm Bella" she said putting her hand out for me to shake "I'm Riley nice to meet you Bella"
