Chapter 10

Riley's P.O.V

I can't believe that happened

What was I thinking?

I shouldn't have done that

Now everything is worse

I need to get home before anyone realizes I'm gone

I climbed up to my window and quietly opened it, I stepped inside and shut it.

I walked over to my bed and sat down.

My door started to open "Please go away Auggie" I said but then realised that it wasn't Auggie.

"You won't be hearing from Auggie again he is with your mother" I gasped and tears filled my eyes "You can't just take him away from me he is my brother and what do you mean he's with mum?" I stood up "You know exactly what I mean by he's with your mother, now where have you been?" he said walking closer to me.

"I was with a friend" I said and inched backwards on my bed.

"You know the rules, now since you disobeyed the rules you're gonna get it" he said and ran towards me.

I quickly rolled off my bed just in time to miss his fist "Quit moving bitch" he screamed and leaped over the bed and pinned me to the floor.

I closed my eyes and thought about the kiss with Maya.

But nothing could distract me from the pain.

He punched me first in the eye and multiple times on the cheek.

I could feel the blood running down my cheek, the pain was unbearable.

"You get no dinner" he said and walked to the door and slammed it behind him.

I heard his loud footsteps go all the way to the front door and he just left.

I got up, walked to the bathroom and washed the blood from my face.

I looked in the mirror at my bruised face.

Why is my life like this?

I have no one

I deserve no one

I heard a knock on the door, so I went to the door and opened it.

"IT'S AVA MORGENSTERN" said the little girl at the door, I laughed "what would you like Ava?"

"Hey Riley is Auggie and Topie home?" My smile faded "No they are still on holiday" she looked down "aw I haven't seen Topie for ages I miss how she would pick me up and put me outside the door, okay bye Riley" she waved and skipped back down the hall.

I shut the door and walked back to my bedroom, I picked up my phone.

Should I ring her?

Should I just text her?

I need to see if she is okay.

Hey Maya just wanted to make sure you got home okay.

Nobody answered

She probably doesn't want to talk to me

I laid down on my bed and started thinking about what happened.

Then my phone buzzed I quickly picked it up
