wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwThird Person POV
Snotlout grabbed a sword from a nearby rack. He swung it around before getting into position. Kori took a sword and stood across from Snotlout. He wasted no time rushing at her. She blocked, barely, and kept blocking. She couldn't get a swing in anywhere. He had soon backed her up against the wall. Their swords were locked, faces inches apart. Kori's arms shook with effort and her hands started slipping. Clang. She dropped the sword. Snotlout nearly decapitated her. He put his sword away.
Before leaving he called out, "We need to practice again."
Once alone, Kori picked up her sword and put it away with little to no difficulty. She bolted to the forge to pick up the tail before flying between trees to reach the clearing. She arrived and strapped on the tail while Hiccup was petting Toothless.
"Test drive time," she said saddling the dragon and beginning to climb on.
"Okay. Move over so I can."
"Nope. I'm test driving." She climbed aboard and grabbed the string attached to the tail so she could keep it open. She lightly bumped Toothless's side with her legs and he took off. He flapped his wings and flew . . . almost right into the side of the cliff before Kori pulled the string and his tail flipped out. He glided nicely through trees and easily navigated under, over, and around branches. He suddenly banked to the left to avoid a tree and he found his tail handicap helpless. Dragon and rider rolled through a field of grass. Kori didn't know which way was up or down or left or right. She didn't know if Hiccup knew what had happened or if anyone in the village heard a dragon's roar or some other sound. All she knew when she stood up was that the grass was a favorite of Toothless. His rolling and nosing made that quite obvious. Hiccup soon caught up to Toothless and Kori.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. And Toothless really likes this grass."
The next day was the day they officially began having problems. After safely thwarting a Gronkle, using the new grass, the elder was going to pick who would kill the Monstrous Nightmare. Typically speaking, only one person was chosen. But this time, she chose both Hiccup and Kori. This was a serious problem for obvious reasons. With one look from Hiccup, Kori knew what they were going to do. They needed to fix Toothless and fly away. Kori ran to the forge as soon as she could.
"Hey, babe," Snotlout flirted as soon as she stepped through the threshold into the forge.
"Don't call me that. Why are you here?"
"Did you forget? You're going to need some help training if you want to beat that Monstrous Nightmare."
"I really don't think I will. Bye."
"Fine. At least tell me what this is." Snotlout held up the blueprints for Toothless's most recent tail update.
"Give me that!" Kori said snatching it from his grasp. "Why were you going through my stuff?"
"I was bored and you always have good ideas. Like this one!" Snotlout picked up another drawing, this time the saddle for Toothless. He held it upside-down and observed it. "I mean, this looks like a fantastic war tool that can help us kill all the dragons."
"Oh, the irony," Kori muttered.
"What?"
"Nothing. Anyway, I need to make that thing that you're holding so hand it over."
