"How did this happen?" Josiah walked back and forth, not knowing what to do.
"He was incredibly quick." Jett's eyes widened, still in shock of what had hapoened.
"I don't want to hear your praises. Tell me how this happened!"
"That's the thing Josiah, we don't know either. He just took off with her and disappeared."
"He can't possibly disappear. That is not any vampire's ability," Bow spoke in disbelief.
"He got out through this window," Anta pointed, "but if he came out here, then the wolves should've seen him. And even if he had gone to the roof there would still be no place to go."
"There," Josiah pointed to a big tree that was about a kilometer from the house, "he jumped there."
"There?" Emperor raised his eyebrow, "that's impossible Josiah, he couldn't possibly..."
"Do you see how far that is?" Bow exclaimed.
"Your point is?"
"My point is not even the king could jump that."
"Good point then give me another explanation."
"I haven't got any but it's definitely not disappearing and most definitely not flying."~~~~~
The sound of crickets and the wind blowing. A wonderful way to be woken up. What wasn't wonderful is waking up in a different place from where you slept. Daenah got up as fast as she could and started to check the surroundings. She was confused. She was unable to comprehend how she got there and where "there" actually was. She was still in the woods, in an unfamiliar part of it. Even though she has lived in the woods her whole life she has been limited to only stay within their territory.
"Do not be frieghtened," a man spoke from above her. She looks up and sees a silhouette but just a millisecond. He disappeared and then appeared in front of her. He was tall, pale white skin without a hint of any flaw. He had a firm stance, one that showed dominance and pride. His hair was only a few inches above his shoulder and his eyes had the color of freshly-escaped blood. "I am not here to harm you," he took small steps towards her and she kicks the dirt on her feet towards his face. The dirt distracted him enough for him not to anticipate her move. She slams her palm to his forehead while her other palm hit him at the back of his head. It was as if he was stunned, a normal vampire would've been knocked out to sleep with this move but he simply dropped on his knees and shook his head. His vision cleared up and he stood to look at her. She took a fighting stance and he smiled at her.
"Who are you?" she lowered her stance, "what are you?" he dusted the dirt on his pants before he bowed before her.
"You woke me up from my sleep," his voice, raspy in a slightly soft monotone, with a very strong accent. She raised an eyebrow in thought. "With your blood," he pointed to her arm.
"Yo...you...you're," she stuttered and took steps back until she was stopped when her back was against a tree, "you're Lucifer?"
"Lucifer?" he smirks, "if you mean hell-hot with a devilish smile, then yes."
"Stay back!" she shouted.
"Alright, alright. I shall not come near you. I will keep this distance but you have to listen to what I have to say."
"Why should I have to listen to a vampire?"
"Because this vampire will save your life and also your pack," she shut her mouth and gave him her undivided attention. She sits down and so does he.
"What do you mean?"
"You ascend in a week, yes?"
"How do you know that?"
"I can access memories by drinking the blood of those that I want to access the memories of and since I was woken by your blood, I gained access to a lot of your memory. I also watched the memories of the vampires that hunted you. With their memories, came their plans. And they plan to kill you," he pointed to her, "on the night of your ascending, when you are weak and vulnerable, when you take the power of the moon to consume nature."
"Weak, yes. Vulnerable, maybe. But unprotected, no." She stood and laughed, "In case you didn't see in my memory, I have an army of wolves."
"Daenah you are only listening to the things that you want to hear. The important parts fall on deaf ears, "he stands and was about to take a step towards her but she widened her eyes. He backed up and groaned in frustration, "you take the power of the moon to consume nature. Your wolves are a part of nature while the werewolves get their powers from nature. Hence, they are rendered worthless. Who would protect you then?"
"Why are you telling me this? Why should I believe you?"
"Daenah I mean you no harm and if I wanted you dead you would've already been. I need to protect you, you need to successfully become the witch of nature."
"Protect me? Why would I believe you when you kidnapped me?"
"It had to be done. It is the only way that we could have this conversation because otherwise your wolves would be attacking me and you would be running away."
"Why should I trust a vampire to protect me?"
"Because you need me. I'm a necessary evil, a necessary ally, a necessary choice you have to take. I'm your only choice."
"What's in it for you?"
"I have my reason darling. One that you don't need to know."
"I want to know."
"Trust me," he appeared inches away from her, "you are better off without knowledge of that reason." Daenah was so shocked that she almost fell. Her fall was stopped when he grabbed her waist and pulled her towards himself. She then saw a familiar face standing behind Lucifer.
