Dangerous Love

Chapter nine

They sat in silence. The whole house was full of tension. Worried faces was displayed by everyone. Some thinking of leaving the circle of salt surrounding the house and going after Daenah. But knowing that they won't be of help at all was what angered them the most. Without the moon to give them power they become very weak like a human on the verge of death from starving.
Daenah was walking with Adhemar. Trying to keep distance away from her pack so that she could ascend without killing any wolf. Adhemar followed her, sprinting from tree to tree, taking short stops to heal his skin from burning.
"We could've just left when the sun is down already," Daenah pretended to feel sympathy for Adhemar while she was smiling and trying to keep her laugh from being heard.
"You need to start ascending as soon as the moon is visible," Adhemar stood behind a tree, healing and breathing heavily from pain, "so that you will have more time before the vampires get here."
"Yeah. About that," Daenah took the last sip of water from her bottle, "are you really gonna fight all those vampire, including the royal family by yourself?"
"Just keep going," Lucifer catches up and pats the fire off of his arm.

The sun was still setting but the moon was already visible. Daenah sat on the grass with eyes closed, concentrating. As soon as the moonlight started shinning on her, she started floating. At a height of 10 feet above the ground, Daenah was being blessed by nature. The wind was wildly blowing and soft voices could be heard. Gibberish whispers that Daenah started repeating as soon as it reached her ears.
"They're coming," eyes scanning the surrounding, Adhemar's fangs and claws' were out, ready for a fight. Daenah's eyes turned plain white and she started shouting words that Adhemar could not comprehend. And just then the voices got louder. It was as if there were other witches chanting with Daenah.
Adhemar turned his attention away from Daenah as soon as he heard a twig snap from afar. Like a bullet from a rifle, he shot forward. He tackled a vampire, ripping it's head off and quickly jumped towards another to do the same thing. He switched targets as soon as he can, killing vampire after vampire. Jumping, leaping, running, tackling, grabbing, heads flying and hearts being ripped off of vampires' chest. Barely any vampire got past Adhemar but even when they did, they didn't get too far. Not one vampire got a 100 meter close to Daenah. When suddenly, Adhemar sensed more vampires coming from the other side. Adhemar retreated to Daenah. She was now repeating a chant. "Busquetoroambonitapoquit...Busquetoroambonitapoquit...Busquetoroambonitapoquit...Busquetoroambonitapoquit..." each time she repeated it, the brightness of the full moon diminished.
Adhemar was going circles around Daenah, killing any vampire on sight. Whenever a vampire got too close to Daenah he grabs the vampire and tosses him away as quick as he can. Adhemar was at least ten times quicker than any normal vampire. But then, he wasn't just against normal vampires. Amongst the vampire were royal bloods and some warrior vampires that are at above the average vampires when it comes to power and speed. The royals stood far away as the king stopped them from taking a step further. The vampire king watched Adhemar and smiled.
"Interesting," the vampire king said and the royal family was left to wonder what he was thinking. He looks at the warriors and tells 5 of them to attack. The warriors attack. Adhemar throws a vampire at the warriors that knocks three of them down. Adhemar kills the other two in an instant before returning to the circle to attack the vampires. The other three warriors get up. They grabbed Adhemar but they were easily thrown away. Adhemar continues to throw vampire away from Daenah. Adhemar was hit by a warrior and he drops but gets back up and pierced his hands through two of the vampires' chest while the other vampire choked him. He sees a vampire getting close to Daenah and he quickly pulls the hearts out and snaps the neck of the other warrior before jumping towards the vampire bitting it's neck and ripping it's head off.
"Let us retreat."
"But my king. Now's our chance to kill her."
"We need not kill her, for she is soon to be our ally," the king smiles at the prince and he calls the vampires to retreat. The moon could no longer be seen in the sky. Adhemar grabs Daenah and runs her towards her house. He gently pushes her in the circle as he stays outside.
"You're safe now," he said as if he was saying goodbye.
"Wait!" she said, grabbing his wrist. He looks at her hand before looking up at her eyes. "You said you'd tell me if I successfully ascend," she lets go of his wrist. He smiles at her.
"I've changed my mind, it's something you don't have to know," he says as he turned away but was once again grabbed by Daenah.
"You have to tell me otherwise tonight would not have been a total succe..." before she could finished, he pulled her out of the circle. He places his palm on her cheeks and quickly pulls her towards him. They're lips were touching, Adhemar had his eyes closed while Daenah's eyes widened in shock. Adhemar pulls away from the kiss and gently pushes Daenah inside the circle then dissapeared. Daenah stood there, unable to move, unable to think of anything. Stunned until she blinked and realizes that she was kissed. She places her fingers on her lips, confused as to what had just happened.
