A small grin crept on my face at the sight of my husband on Christmas morning

A small grin crept on my face at the sight of my husband on Christmas morning. He sleepily rubbed his eyes, trying to adjust to the light shining through the giant windows. His tattoos glimmered under the sun, looking like a piece of artwork. Because of his tattoos he's a walking masterpiece. Every inch of his arms are covered. One hand has a skull and the other hand is blank, which I find odd. His left hand is clean of permanent ink. The only permanent thing on his left hand is his ring; the ring that ties us both together.

The room was suddenly taken over by darkness as the sun disappeared from the sky. Heavy blankets of snow fell from the sky making someone's Christmas ten times better. I wished for snow every year except this year. All I want is a peaceful day in with my love.

A loud yawn left his lips as he stretched his limbs. Seeing and hearing him yawn made me yawn also. It's weird how every time one person in the room yawns another person yawns.

Are yawns contagious? Maybe. But leave it up to scientists since they know everything.

I was snapped out of my thoughts as Alex's side of the bed went up to its original state. My cheeks felt warm as a slight blush crept onto my face because he caught me staring at him. "Merry Christmas baby girl." A small grin played on his lips as he kept his eyes on me while walking towards the bathroom. I mumbled Merry Christmas back and joined him in the bathroom to brush my teeth. "Shower with me?" Alex's hand held mine as he slowly walked backwards to the shower.

I placed my toothbrush in its spot before nodding my head. A grin spread on his lips as he turned his back to me. I stripped out of my clothes as Alex started the shower. I stared at myself through the mirror while doing so. My hair was all over the place and my face seemed to be smaller than usual. I took a quick glance at my husband and realized he was now in the shower waiting for me.

The steaming water hit my back as I carefully stepped in the shower. His eyes were red and bags were under them. I guess he didn't sleep well. That makes us both actually. He left early in the morning again, for some unknown reason. I found myself wide awake at two in the morning with nothing to do but coke. I found his stash and sniffed only two lines. Unfortunately, using cocaine means no sleep.

"You okay?" I frowned as I placed my hand on his cheek. I gently stroked his face with my thumb. "You look sleep deprived."

"I'm drug deprived." Alex sighed. He wrapped his arms around my bare waist, resting his hands on my butt. I leaned my body on his and stared in his eyes. He truly did look sick, although he isn't sick anymore. I chewed on my bottom lip and gave a small nod since I didn't know what to say.

A bad taste came from the back of my throat causing me to hurry out of the shower and to the toilet. My throat began to hurt as I emptied my stomach. I continued to cough up everything I had last night and early this morning as Alex held my hair back. Once I was done Alex helped me up. I brushed my teeth once again since this disgusting taste was in my mouth.
