Majesty A. Turner
My eyes stayed glued to the sky as the stars twinkled. How is it that the North Star shines the brightest? 'Everyone is equal' is what they say, but if stars aren't equal then humans won't be equal to one another either.
The moon shined bright tonight, although it is only a half moon. A half moon is more beautiful than a full moon. What makes people think that a full moon is more beautiful? Is it because they can see all of it and none of it is hidden? Sometimes hidden things can be more beautiful.
The moon itself is very mysterious and intriguing. Maybe some people love full moons because it's the most they can get out of it.
Anything less than a full moon seems to be more magnificent to me. I don't want to see the whole moon. I like to make up my own conspiracies.
Why is the moon only full every blue moon, but the sun is always whole?
The moon is the one thing scientists don't have a full understanding on. Some things are meant to not be understood.
The light switch made a clicking sound as it suddenly flashed on. My eyes squinted as I tried to get used to the sudden brightness. Glancing over my shoulder I saw a very sleepy Alex rubbing his eyes. His shorts hung loosely on his hips as he continued to rub at his eyes like a small child. I couldn't fight the smile that formed on my lips.
"Why're you sitting in here?" His raspy voice questioned.
Instead of answering his question I told him to turn the light off and sit next to me. He hesitated for a moment, but eventually sat next to me on the floor in front of the large window. I rested my head on his shoulder as we both stared out of the window.
"You're so fascinated with the dark." Alex mumbled.
"There's so many things to learn about it." I spoke quietly. "It can be scary, yet so peaceful."
Alex eyes pierced into mine as he looked down at me on his shoulder. "Do you believe in aliens?"
"Of course." I nodded. "There are so many planets and galaxies, why would God only put humans on one planet in a random Galaxy?"
"Yeah." Alex chuckled. "I don't think they're little green people with big heads, but I do think they're real. They may not be living on Mars, well hell, they may not be anywhere in this galaxy, but they're somewhere. We can't be the only ones if space never ends."
If we just so happen to be the only ones imagine how depressing that is. Space never ends.
Twilight zone type of shit.
After speaking about our late night thoughts we went back to bed. Late nights talks are the best talks.
I sadly woke up without Alexander by my side. He was out and about doing whatever he does while I'm not around.
New Years was three days ago, meaning I return to school tomorrow morning.
Is it possible to be a morning person and night owl?
Morning is when I feel at peace. Night is when all of my inner thoughts come out.
After eating a bowl of Apple Jacks and watching a documentary on mermaids, I returned to the bedroom. I hummed a song by PARTYNEXTDOOR as I made the bed. My humming was cut short when my foot hit something hard. I went tumbling to the floor. Luckily, my hands stopped me before my face could hit the hardwood floor. I let out a breath of relief but that was quickly replaced with a hiss.
