That evening, Killian came to get Emma at her penthouse like they planned. He knocked on the door and a few moments later, Emma opened it. She wore jeans, a simple t-shirt and ankle boots. Her hair curled gracefully down her back, and Killian was taken back.
"I've never seen you in casual clothes before." He said, his mouth slightly agape.
Emma looked down at her apparel and giggled. "I have better clothes in my closet."
"What you're wearing is perfectly fine."
"Alright." She closed the door behind her and took Killian's offered arm. "What are we going to do?"
"I planned to stargaze on the roof. If that's okay with you."
"As long as there's food, I don't care." They both laughed and stepped into the elevator. Killian pressed the 'R' button and they went up. "Although, I am pretty sure that you need the boss' permission to use the roof." She held back a laugh as a terrified expression crossed his face. She nudged his shoulder and smiled. "But, I won't tell her." He let out a sigh of relief and the elevator stopped.
They stepped out and Killian opened the door to the roof and propped it open. Emma gasped as she saw that the entire roof had been transformed. A picnic blanket was spread out under the stars with candles around it. He went around and quickly lit them, and sat down. Emma sat down across from him.
"This is beautiful." She said, looking around.
"Thank you. I had some help." He said. "So I can't really take all the credit."
After they ate, the two laid down on the pillows and looked up at the stars. Killian would point out constellations and what they represented. Emma found it fascinating that he knew so much about the stars. She loved to hear him talk and how the words just rolled off his tongue. He was in the middle of explaining what Pegasus was when she cut him off with a quick kiss. He moaned in surprise, but it ended all too quickly. She pulled away and looked down, clearing her throat. "Sorry."
"Don't apologize." He whispered and flipped them over. He pressed his lips to hers in a demanding kiss, one that Emma was eager to return. He swiped his tongue over her bottom lip, asking for entrance. She was quick to grant it and let his tongue roam her mouth. Eventually, he began to trail wet kisses down her jawline and neck. Emma moaned, but put her hand on his chest to stop him. He pulled away and licked his lips. His pupils were blown wide with lust, but she was pretty sure hers were the same.
"Let's take this somewhere more private." She stated and stood up. He nodded and they went back to her penthouse together. As soon as the door closed, Killian kissed her again, pinning her to the door. Emma blindly led him to her bedroom where they spent the entire night together.
The next morning, Emma woke up alone in her bed. The bed was cold, meaning Killian had left some time ago. She looked over at the alarm clock and saw that it was only 7:30 in the morning. She grabbed her robe that was hanging on the post of her bed and slipped it on. She went out into the hallway and smelled bacon and coffee. She went out to the kitchen and Killian was standing in front of the stove. She couldn't see from the waist down, but he didn't have a shirt on. He glanced up and Emma bit her lip.
"You didn't have to make breakfast." She said, but she was grateful. Last night's activities had left her famished.
"What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't make breakfast for my girlfriend?" He asked rhetorically.
"Good point. You're smart, handsome, and you can cook. You are wonderful."
He laughed and put some bacon and pancakes onto a plate for her. He poured her a cup of coffee and gave her the milk and sugar. "I am going to get a shower."
"Eat with me, then we can shower together."
"As appealing as that sounds, I unfortunately can't. I have to get going."
"What? Really?"
"Aye, I have some errands to run."
Emma watched him go into the bathroom and she ate. She had to get down to her office as soon as possible, so she ate fast. Her and Killian went their separate ways with a kiss. She watched him leave and he went to his car in the parking lot. Emma didn't even get a chance to close her office door before it was forced open again.
"So. You and Killian, huh?" Ruby asked as she opened the door. She crossed her arms over her chest and smirked at Emma.
"Yeah, what about us?"
"I told you you too were gonna get together!"
"Well, for once you were right." She sat down at her seat with a sigh.
"You had sex, didn't you?"
Emma blushed. "What? No!"
"You did! How was he? Was he as good as he looks he is?"
"Ruby!" Emma scolded. "What Killian and I do is none of your concern."
The brunette held her hands up in defense. "Can't blame me. You hire a guy who looks like that, and every girl in the building wants to jump him. You were just lucky enough to score before they were."
Emma chuckled. "I don't know. He likes me too."
"And that is why you are good together. But seriously. What was it like?"
Emma glared, but laughed anyway. "He was sweet. Imagine the best sex you've ever had. And multiply that by ten."
"He's a keeper. You better marry him because if you don't, I will."
"Geez, Ruby. We just slept together for the first time! Marriage isn't even on my mind right now!"
"It's going to happen. I bet fifty dollars."
"Ruby-"
"Fifty dollars!" She called out and shut the door behind her.
Emma laughed, and let everything about Killian slip her mind for the rest of the day.
