The next day, Killian woke up with a major headache. He was definitely hung over, and he didn't feel so good. He was nauseous and the light that came in through the window was too much. The second thing he noticed was that he was on the couch, and not with Emma. But then, that was when the memories came flooding back. He couldn't remember anything except for getting laughed out of five interviews, and then heading to a random bar to get drunk. The next thing he could remember, was that he was fighting with Emma. She was kicking him out and they were going to go on a break.

He glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was a little after 10:30. He got up and took some Advil from the medicine cabinet and got some garbage bags and filled his clothes in them. He met David in the lobby, but hesitated before asking him to move back in with him. David had been a cool roommate, but he wanted to stay with Emma. He didn't want to move out. But, he had screwed up. And it would be her decision when and if they got back together again.

"Killian, what are you doing?" David asked from in front of him.

"I uh, have a huge favor to ask of you." Killian began. "Can I move back in with you?"

"Yeah. I still have the space. Why? I thought you were living with Emma."

"I kinda messed up, mate." He looked down at the floor and scratched behind his ear. "I don't feel like I'm good enough for her because she makes more money than I do. I just feel like a failure because of that. I guess because of the fact that I keep bringing it up, she kicked me out and she suggested we go on a break. I just need a place to stay for now."

"Yeah. You're always welcome at my place." He clapped Killian on his back. "The spare key is in the same place as it's always been."

Three Months Later...

Killian had been staying with David for three months, but he tried to make his presence scarce. He didn't want David to think that he wasn't trying to get back on his feet, but it had been tough. He couldn't find a job at all. No one wanted to hire him, and he couldn't figure out why. He was using his busy life as a distraction. A distraction away from the beautiful blonde that had stolen his heart since the day he met her. During the day, Killian could easily ignore his pain and how miserable he felt, but at night, it was harder. There were no distractions to keep his mind off of Emma. He missed her so much, and he wasn't sure how much longer he'd be able to keep up the charade.

It didn't make matters any better when David told him that Emma had been a complete and total mess too. The once happy and perky boss had become something of a witch. She had become more strict and irritable because she wasn't getting much sleep. Her dark bags were seen through her makeup, and she was hardly seen during the day, unless she was getting food. The hotel was still running strong, but she was falling to pieces. David told Killian that everytime Emma saw him, she'd ask how he was doing, and Killian's heart broke because it had been months since they had seen each other last.

"You need to get your act together and go and see her." David said, shutting the laptop that was currently sitting in Killian's lap. "You both are complete messes that only each other can clean up."

"But what if she doesn't want to see me, Dave? Then what do I do?"

"Believe me, she wants to see you. It took me some time before I realized that it was okay that Mary Margaret was making more money than I was, but I got over it because I love her. You love Emma, don't you?"

"With all my heart."

"Then go clean yourself up and tell her that." Killian nodded and got up from the couch and headed towards the bathroom. "If I keep being your couples councilor, than I'm gonna have to charge you." Killian laughed and went into the bathroom.

Emma trudged back up to her penthouse after another long, hard day. She had finished all of the paperwork for the day, but she was exhausted. She wasn't able to sleep at night, not since Killian had left. She had gotten a body pillow like people have mentioned to do after a breakup, online, but it didn't help. She wanted his arms to hold her tight and close to his chest. She wanted to hear his heartbeat when her head laid on his chest. She just wanted him. Emma went into the bathroom and scrubbed her makeup off and took the pins out of her hair, and let her curls fall against her back. She changed out of her work clothes and put on her pajamas. She settled onto the couch with a big tub of chocolate ice cream on her lap. Just as she was about to dig into it, there was a knock on the door. She sighed dramatically and set the ice cream down and went over to the door.

Emma gasped when she saw who it was on the other side. "Killian? What are you doing here?"

"I came to ask if you would take me back." He got down onto his knees and looked up at her. "Swan, it has been months, and I have missed you more than you could ever imagine. I realize that my behavior was stupid, and you have every right to be mad."

"I'm not mad. I'm just glad you're back." She tugged on his arm, bringing him up, and she pressed their lips together. His hands found their way to her hips and she moaned into the kiss. He began placing kisses on her neck and jawline, and she made no move to stop him. "Does this mean you'll be moving back in?" She asked breathlessly.

"If you want me to." He growled into her skin.

"Fuck yeah. Will you take your job back?"

"Yes."

"Will you take me to the bedroom?"

He straightened up and smirked. He backed into the penthouse and shut the door, then pinned her up against it. "What's wrong with right here?"

Emma moaned as he kissed her again, and she couldn't remember the last time she was this happy.
