One Year Later...
Killian and Emma stood in front of their new motel, The Jolly Roger. It was the grand opening, and all of their friends stood in the crowd. As did some news reporters. Killian stood behind Emma as she held the giant scissors to cut the ribbon. The reporters took pictures as she did so and everyone cheered. The Jolly Roger was a ship themed hotel. It was cozy and smaller, but no less relaxing. There were less rooms than The Swan had, but it was still perfect. Some people from the crowd went inside and some people left. Mary Margaret and David walked up the steps with little C.J. Jones holding their hands. C.J. was Emma and Killian's daughter. She was learning how to walk, but still needed help from adults. The little's girl's name stood for Carrie Jean. The new parents couldn't make up their minds, so they picked both, calling her C.J. for short. She really was an adorable girl. She had bright green eyes, just like her mom, and black hair like her dad. Her hair was curly and she had a beautiful red tint to her cheeks.
"Come on, little love." Killian said as he picked her up. "Want to go to the office?" He asked, and she nodded her head. He chuckled and kissed Emma on the cheek and went inside.
"Have you told him yet?" Mary Margaret asked.
Emma sighed and shook her head. "We've been really busy."
"He'd love another!" David said, nudging Emma's arm.
"We've had a lot to deal with over the past year. I don't even think he wants to."
"Emma, Killian would never say no to another kid. Maybe you can try for a boy this time."
"We just had C.J. though."
"Yeah, a year ago. Come on, live a little! He'd never tell you that you couldn't try for another child."
"I hope you're right." Emma hugged her friend. "I have to get in there. Killian is probably spinning around in the desk chair with C.J. on his lap and not getting work done. Bye! Thanks for watching her."
"Anytime." Mary Margaret said. "Good luck!"
Emma laughed and watched as her friends left the parking lot. She looked up at the sky, which was a perfect blue. There weren't any clouds either. The perfect day for a grand opening. Killian had insisted that they find space near the beach that was available to build the motel. Luckily, they had gotten a perfect view to the ocean behind them. The sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore could be heard, and it brought a smile to her face. She took a deep breath of the perfect California air and went inside. A few guests lingered in the lobby and a couple was waiting behind the desk as the receptionist checked them in. She went down the hallway and to the office she shared with Killian. There were two desks in the room and a huge window looking out to the parking lot. The carpet on the floor was dark blue and there was a painting of a ship above Killian's desk. A fake potted plant sat in the corner, and fake flowers and succulent plants were on the bookshelf near Emma's desk. There was a ship in a bottle, and a few books about ships and knots that lingered too. The room had been designed by Killian, and Emma had to admit that he had done a fantastic job. When she walked in, just as she had predicted, Killian was spinning in his desk chair with C.J. on his lap. Her little giggles and Killian's laugh made her heart warm. Emma stood in the doorway and watched them. When he stopped, he squinted his eyes at Emma, as if unsure if she was really there. No doubt that he was having a hard time seeing her.
"There's mummy, C.J. Want to go get her?" He placed their daughter on her feet and she swayed before falling over. Killian caught her before she could hit the ground, and both parents erupted into a fit of giggled.
Emma went to Killian and picked C.J. up from his arms. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. "Someone's tired." She kissed her daughter's forehead and placed her in the portable crib in the corner of the office. C.J. fell asleep almost instantly.
Killian went over to Emma and wrapped his arms around her from behind. "She's so cute when she's asleep. Must get that from you."
"From both of us maybe." Emma agreed. She spun around and wrapped her arms around Killian's neck. "I want another one. Can we have another?"
"Is that really what you want, my love?"
"Yeah." She brushed her nose against his. "I love C.J. and all, but I want another baby. She's done a lot of growing up and it all seemed to fly right by. Please tell me we can have another?"
"Absolutely." He kissed Emma's forehead and worked his way down to her lips. "Why don't we start now?"
"Not with her in the room!" Emma argued, but if Killian kept kissing down her jaw the way he was, she wasn't sure how long she would be saying that.
"Belle said we could call her anytime. Let's get her to watch C.J. for an hour or so."
Belle French was C.J.'s babysitter. The girl was a teenager. A senior in high school trying to make some extra money. Emma and Killian liked her about as much as Belle liked them.
"I am not calling her so we can go have sex. Besides, the work is already done."
Killian suddenly pulled back and Emma bit her lip. "What?"
"Surprise!" She said in barely a whisper.
"You're pregnant? How long?"
"A few weeks. I found out two days ago. You are now the only one that knows. I told Mary Margaret and David that I wanted to try for another baby, but I wasn't sure how you would feel about it given our situation-" Emma's rambling was suddenly cut off my Killian pressing his lips to hers.
"I don't care. Let's just get on with today and we can celebrate properly tonight." He growled in her ear.
Emma giggled and kissed him one last time and sat behind her desk. Killian sat down behind his and they both started to work on paperwork, sending sneaky glances to one another when they knew that the other was watching.
The End!!!
