Chapter 7: A Mother's Hospitality~

I stared at Leah, then kicked her in the face. She flipped onto her back, her nose bleeding. "Chase!" Lydia scolded. I drew my whip again and stared at Leah as I stood back up. "Lydia." I responded flatly. "Get Celeste out of here."

"What the devil?" Celeste asked. "No! You're a newbie, I can tell. Why on earth would we leave you here alone?"

"I need answers, damn it! And I'm going to get them whether you want me to or not!" I scremed at them, making the girls flinch. I watched Leah carefully. She was grasping her nose with her fingers, the palm of that very same hand covering the gashes I made in her cheek.

"I'll answer any question you want me to, princess." Leah tried. I cracked my whip, and it landed on her ankle, making her skin slash wide open. "Don't call me a damn princess, you hear me? Unless you start explaining-" I turned to Lydia and Celeste. "-and you two get the hell out-" I turned back to Leah. "-there will be more blood spilled here than drinks tonight!"

The whole room went deathly silent, the obly noise being made being the grand clock in the room and my labored breathing. "Leah." I scowled at the girl from the hearts kingdom. "You better start talking before I bludgeon the truth out of you."

"You're a prin-" she started, but got cut off by my glaring at her. "You're royalty. The Queen of Hearts's missing daughter."

"When did she go missing?" I asked her, raising my whip again. She flinched and scooted back, slamming into the door. "She went missing around the time she was born." Leah immediately stated.

The look on her face said she wasn't going to hurt me, but that died the minute she shot a knife, which landed in my left arm. I winced at the pain and cracked my whip again. this time slicing open the skin on her chest, making her cry out in pain. I rose my whip again, but my wrist was being held by something.

"Chasity, that's enough." Celeste said, making me gasp. I turned and looked at her, and tried not to get upset again. "You're done." she lowered my wrist. "We have to get out of here with her. It's either that or we get caught and our cover is blown."

I relented and walked over to the injured ballgoer, slinging her over my shoulder. "Show us the way out, Celeste." I said, and Celeste nodded. She shot a hook up into the cieling, where there was an open hatch.

"Came in this way," she said. "come out this way." She began to climb up the rope. I handed Leah's body off to Celeste, who continued up the rope, then I started up, closely followed by Lydia. Once we had all made it onto the roof, we climbed down the side of the building. Since the party was going on in the ballroom, nobody else was in the rest of the house, except for those maids and butlers and servants.

We had all made it to the ground safely, and Celeste put Leah down on her feet. "Thanks for that, treating me like a dead body." Leah spat, slapping Celeste in the arm. Celeste j7umped back and drew a sword. "Don't you touch me." she warned. "I hate it when people touch me."

"Chasity." I told her. "Call me either Chasity or Chase." Celeste nodded and sheathed her sword. "Where to, spy?" she said, spitting, literally, at Leah. Leah perked up and grabbed my wrist and began running.

"Damn it!" I heard Lydia scream furiously. I turned to my side as I ran, trying to find my whip. Leah squeezed my wrist and I looked up to see her holding it with her other hand. "Looking for this?" she grinned. "Oh, don't worry, I'll give it back. Once you've taken the throne as princess of the hearts kingdom."

"No!" I screamed, making Leah stop running and stare ahead of her. I screamed so loud that seemingly all of the birds in the surrounding area flew up and away, causing guards to call out to one another. Leah looked around, horrified, before grabbing me by my hair and pointing her gun at my throat.
