Chapter 15: Break-Outs Suck~

"Let me go!" I cried, kicking and screaming, wanting to kill everything within a five meter radius. I kicked and screamed with all my might, trying to break free. No way in hell was I going to give in and take me back to the Hearts Kingdom. Everyone else got into a seperate carriage behind mine wiht ease, telling me not to fight it. Lee-Ann slammed on the glass doors of the palace, her makeup running. She was screaming something inaudible and unreadable.

"Chasity, please!" Leah beggged me, struggling against ther wall of guards "Just get in the carriage! The sooner we get home, the sooner we can-"

"That place is not my home!" I cried, landing a punch to a guard's face. He stumbled back, his nose broken. I kicked one of the guards in his... lower area, and he crumpled to the ground in the fetal position. I leaped away at that exact moment and made an a-line for the palace doors.

"Lee-Ann, let me in!" I cried as I bolted towards the doors. She pointed to her left and told me to go out back. I ran to my right, and met her outside. I saw her standing at the fence. "You have to jump it." she told me. I nodded and apologized in advamce for ruining her dress. I stretched my legs as far as they would go, making the hem on the skirt of the dress pop. I grabbed whatever skirt I could and jumped over the fence. I asked Lee-Ann frantically for a place to hide.

Lee-Ann led me up the steps and into her room. I quickly dicarded the dress she'd lent me and I jumped into a townsperson's dress. "How do you have this?" I asked her. She responded with, "My brother got it for me. he made me promise to never wear it around the house. I want you to take it and sneak into town. They won't find you easily if you blend in."

She hurriedly took off my makeup and braided my hair, tying it back in a bun and handing me wood and leather heels. I walked over to her windowsill and poked my nose through it. There were no guards anywhere, and this age has no idea what a surveillance camera even is. I turned back to Lee-Ann and prepped myself on the sill." Thanks for watching out for me, Lee-Ann." I told her.

"Oh, yeah, one more thing before you go." Lee-Ann said. I turned to look at her. Her eyes looked sad, as if she'd never been happy. At least, not since her brother died. "How come you never called me 'Princess' like everyone else does?"

I stared at the teenage girl right in front of me. She'd been sheltered from the world for years on end. Everybody only knew her as something she'd never wanted to be. She'd been put through hell and there was nothing I could do about it. Nothing but smile and jump out the window saying, "I don't call people by names I hate."

I could've sworn I saw a smile on her face as I fell.

I few hours passed before my nerves were rested enough to keep me from looking shady. I never realized how beautiful the kingdoms were until you didn't know how much time you had left. You could be picked up by the guards any second and you wouldn't know until it happened... just how quickly the world gets taken away.

So as I sat in the carriage headed towards Hearts, shackled and sobbing, I realized that those Cherry Blossom trees were all over the kingdom.

We arrived at the palace not to much later. The sun was setting over the horizon, cutting through the sky with early evening colors. The guards who took me escorted me into the court, where my mother sat. She looked up and her face fell from entertained to slightly annoyed.

"Why, mother," I said cockily. She strode up to me, but I ignored her. "I'd say you look quite pissed at me." She slapped me, making my head spin all the way around.

"Where the devil have you been?" she seethed. "You've been late to your own party." My mother called for the maids. "Get her dressed in her gown!"

"What party?" I asked, still shocked that she slapped me.

"Your birthday party, of course!" my mother said, suddenly delighted. "My daughter's finally coming of age!"

I got dragged away, lost in my own thought. Does that mean..... marriage?
