The rain kissed her
softly on the cheek,
with scars running
beneath her eyes,
as she listened
to the thunder
that breaks her soul
as cold as ice.
There was guilt and hurt
written in her heart,
and engraved in her stars,
for she let herself
lose the person
that had healed her
from breaking apart.
And though she no
longer loves him,
the one who looked
at her lovingly,
she drowned herself
in tears for letting go
of a person who was
more than enough,
more than worthy.
