Once we walked thru the hospital doors, i heard shawn ask for Lawrence Wylds' room. "305 down the hall" the nurse said pointing in another direction. When me and Shawn got to the room, i noticed Topaz was no longer behind us. I wonder if she staid in the waiting room. Lawrence still looked like my dad just older and more frail, but it was him. "Hey boys", he said as he managed to crack a smile. "Hey dad" , we both said in unison. "How are you?" Shawn asked. "Im good just trying to hold it together in here"he said. "How long you got?" I asked dryly."2 months, but im supposed have surgery for fluid buildup in my lungs in about 30 minutes" he said sadly. "Doctors say it could make or break me, but im strong i'll get thru it. But enough about me i called to tell yall some news." He finished. "What is it?" Shawn asked . " Since your mama wanted to be a hoe twice throughout our marriage, im completely cuttin her off after i pass. Im leaving everything to you boys, i want you two and Kandice to split my trustfund equally. " he said. "Kandice? She dont even fuck with us we havent heard from her in 6 years smfh!" I said getting angry. Shawn nodded. "She is still your sister and thats final." Dad said sternly. He opened his mouth to say something else but a nurse quickly rushed in. "Its time for his fluid removal surgery and then kemo"she said wheeling him from the room. "I'll be in touch" he said raising his hand to form a peace sign. Me and shawn looked at each other before we left the hospital.
