"Hey? Girl? Are you done?"
Carson called from outside the dome. It looked as though he was talking to a tree stump, since that was the entrance to the ladder that lead to the dome.
He called her once again.
"Girl! Cmon! Okay, so I forgot to ask your name. Are you done now?"
No answer.
"Girl?"
There was definitely not a sound coming from the dome. So she either passed out... Fell asleep... Or something worse. Carson didn't want to know what that "something worse" was.
Anyways, liked it or not, he had to know what happened to her. So he took a sharp branch from nearby and proceeded to get inside the dome as cautiously as he could.

Carson went step by step inside, until he reached the bottom of the ladder and turned around to see what had happened to the red haired girl. It turned out she was... gone? There was no red-haired girl to be seen! Carson kicked the floor.

"Aw, seriously?" He said. "So, girl. You are either hiding or you have actually gone. Who am I kidding. You're not hiding. You have actually left. Aw, man, I'm screwed."

Carson turned around ready to leave the dome. If he didn't find that girl, everything was going to be ruined.

~~~
Great. She had started out great. Ruby had left the dome as soon as she made her decision and was ready to head back home, with no regrets. She stole some food from the dome to survive, she also took a blanket, had extra energy (after that strange glass of water) and felt more prepared than she had ever felt in her life. Okay. So she didn't actually know where she was, and Carson said Mooncalf Hills was very far away, but she didn't care. Ruby somehow knew that she would get a sign wherever she was going to get back home. And that was enough.
Ruby estimated she had been walking for about... 15 minutes. That means Carson should've gone back for her and probably knew she was missing. Now, there are two reactions to this: He shrugged it off, or he started looking for her. The first one seemed more obvious. He had known her for less than a day. Maybe. Anyways, she was just a random girl he met and helped out. It was the right thing to do. Nothing special. And Carson didn't matter anyways. She was never seeing him again. Better to forget him quickly. Ruby, as Carson should've done, shrugged her memories of him off and continued walking, focusing on her mission.
A few minutes later Ruby was sitting down next to one of her beloved trees, eating the first lunch of the day. The first food she stole was a sandwich. It was a meat sandwich, very much like the one she ate after the accident. The accident. Better not to think about it. After settling down and starting to eat Ruby began to think of how she had forgotten to talk to the trees. She was not used to human company– or someone to talk to really, so she had the trees to talk to her. Now that she had talked to Carson the trees weren't that necessary. But she had left Carson, and once again her only company were the trees.
At this moment she didn't feel like talking to them. She was eating lunch, and there was no point in talking. She was about to take another bite of her sandwich, when she heard a twig crack.
Ruby turned her head instantly, and saw Carson with the biggest face of relief.
"I found you!" He sighed.
