"Oh." Said Ruby in a hushed tone. This didn't seem to surprise her for some reason. Perhaps it was the fact that Carson had just become a whole other person, or that a wolf bit her. But it was true. She was a werewolf.
And then it struck her.
She was a werewolf. Everything would be different now. Nothing was going to be the same. She was dangerous. She was planning on going back to her parents– but she couldn't now. It was too dangerous. No wonder Carson wanted to bring her back. No wonder he didn't want her to go back to her parents. She was a werewolf. She was dangerous. She was a monster.
"Oh." Ruby said once again. Carson was staring at her, waiting for something else to come out of her mouth other than 'oh'. She realised this and was about to say something–
"Help me up." Carson said before things got to awkward. "We have to get back to the dome. We've already got into enough trouble. I'll explain everything. But we have to be safe first."
Ruby nodded and picked him up by his good arm, wrapping it around her neck. They walked back to the dome in complete silence. Ruby needed time to think.

When they reached the dome Carson took a bandage and wrapped it around his arm. Then he sat on the bed.

"Well... Where do I begin?" He said after a moment of silence.
"I don't know." Ruby answered. She plopped down on the bed, next to him. "I'm a monster." She muttered.
"No, no!" Carson cut her out immediately. "Don't think that way. You're completely wrong. There's more to being a werewolf than just the transformation. Look– being a werewolf is awesome."
"Yeah, sure. What about killing people? Killing animals?"
"You can control that."
"Yeah of course I can– I can?"
"Ruby– listen."
Clearly Ruby was shaking with fear and anger. Those words seemed to open her eyes a little.
"Go on."
"Okay. So... There are two types of werewolves. Got it? Those are the born, and the unborn. The born werewolves are the ones who's parents are both werewolves, so they turned out as werewolves as well. The unborn, on the other hand, are werewolves who were bitten into becoming werewolves. Now, werewolves are under the control of the moon, right? Well, there is a training done to sort of 'unlink' yourself from the moon, gaining full control of yourself in werewolf form. Those who are born werewolves have an easier time with this, since they were trained from little to control themselves. Then unborn werewolves are the ones who have to work hard to achieve that control. That would be you. Now, werewolves need several stuff to train. First, a place to go to. You get locked up in a stone room with access to the moonlight, where you fight against it and cannot escape. Then you need this–" He held up a leather wristband, with small Celtic-like purple designs. "This is a wolfsbane induced wristband. Werewolves in training and unborn werewolves have to wear these on full moons, to control themselves better." He took the wristband and placed it on Ruby's wrist. It was her twenty-second wristband. "Wear it. It will help you. Now, once werewolves achieve this control, you get a small congratulations ceremony. But what comes next is better. You get to really experience what being a werewolf is like. It's basically like being a wolf, but faster, stronger, better, and quicker. It's amazing. All your five senses intensify. I– I can't put into words how great it is. The only way to know what it feels like is to live it. But it takes time."
"Wow." Ruby said. It was like Carson had told her a story. She was fascinated. There was this whole world hidden from her– she felt so lucky to know of it now.
"But wait. There is one moment at a year when the moon turns blood red. That is called blood moon night, and werewolves – not even born werewolves – have control over themselves that day. That is why we lock ourselves in the training rooms until the blood moon night ends."
"Oh. But it's not that bad, is it?" Asked Ruby.
"No it isn't. Still, some werewolves don't lock themselves up and end up killing people, but that almost never happens, so it's ok."
"Oh, great." Said Ruby sarcastically. "What about you? I know I'm an unborn werewolf. But you...?"
"I'm born."
"So you do have a family!" Said Ruby, kind of worried. "Where are they? Why are you so alone?"
"That is something I don't want to answer. They didn't support me with something, so I left. But let's not talk about my family. What are you going to do with yours?"
"Look." Said Ruby. "I'm guessing you're going to train me, because if not I'm making you train me anyways. After I have full control, I'll go back to my family. Okay? But first I need to make sure I won't hurt them."
"Fine." Said Carson. "And yes, I was going to train you."
"Oh, good. Hey– who were those people we encountered in the woods?"
"Ah, those people. Right. Okay. So, there is this... Village. We werewolves live in it. Now, there are some werewolves who didn't want to follow the rules of this village and they left. That's fine, of course, as long as we're in good terms. Those people are called rogues. They stay out of our village and live their own life, but living their own life they manage to somehow know everything going on everywhere. That's why the village have a sort of contract with them. If they provide us information, we give them food and keep them alive. Now, there are other rogues who don't manage to get that information, and went rebel. The rebel rogues get their food by bargains. They kidnap children of the village or threaten us, so we have to give them food to save our people. That's why they wanted us. For food."
"Well, that's a lot information." Ruby smiled.
"Ha, yeah. There's a lot more, but I don't want to confuse you. It's pretty late now. Let's go to sleep."

Before Ruby could even protest Carson made her get inside the sheets and put the lights out.

Tenth chapter!  I hope you are enjoying the story so far. I'm not really sure how many chapters are left to finish this story since I already know what happens but I don't know how long it will take me to write that.
