From your eyes I tumbled to wonderland, your voice, oh it drove me insane, for when you did not speak, I could hardly stand, you were a drug infecting my veins.
Hatter oh hatter I don't understand, what pleasure do you take in holding my hand? Hatter oh hatter, what do you see? In a poor little Alice, such as me?
You hold me and tell me that all is alright, your smile so sweet as we turn in for the night...
You are mad and I knew it, some part of me drawn to it, the darkness you hold deep inside. The violence, the laughter, the slaughtered ever after, it kept me prisoner by your side.
Hatter oh Hatter, I don't understand, this isn't at all the life we had planned, bruises and scratches are not so easily explained, someone's bound to catch on to your little game.
It all changed so quickly, I'd never seen this before, your eyes they went gray, and your smile a chore, I knew no different until I hit the floor..and I knew...My Hatter, was no more...
Hatter oh Hatter, I wish I could leave, but wonderland has such a spell upon me, would I be at fault if I felt you alone, and your madness consumed you in this cage of a home?
Hatter oh hatter, it's all cold now, I sit and entertain you to avoid your growl, Hatter, my once love, do you not see? You have made a queen of hearts out of me...
This is actually a 'repost' of sorts from my completed poem collection 'Ink'! Check it out!
