Industry Pt. 3

AUTHOR'S POV    

Laurent stands on the pavement looking in the direction that Larry's uber drove even though he's long gone now. Moment by moment his heart is sinking at what Laurent is realizing what has to be the most unimaginable pain for Larry. He can see it in his eyes...hear it in his voice and it only makes Laurent feel it deeper in his heart. People are whisking by him on that sidewalk...some even looking at him as if they're trying to figure out what he's looking at. Tears have started falling from his eyes and of course it doesn't matter if anyone sees him. All he can think about is how to repair this shattered mess and get his love back. He remembers Eleni saying she needs to talk to him and as much as doesn't want to talk about the subject he doesn't have a choice as it's business. After blowing out a huff of frustration he walks back inside to hunt her down. Thankfully he doesn't have to go far. She's standing a few feet away from the judging panel talking to the other judges so he walks over. Already in a mood he doesn't care about interrupting them and in a stern voice...

Laurent: "Eleni. I'm ready to talk now".

Eleni's face slightly scrunches in confusion as she hears the different tone in his voice that's clearly a tone of anger...

Eleni: "Um, it was great talking to you guys but I have to go. Maybe the boys can work with you again soon".

They all smile and say their goodbyes before Eleni walks over to Laurent...

Eleni: "You talk to Larry"?

Laurent: "Does it look like I talked to him"?! 

Eleni: "Laurent, it's just a question. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you".

Laurent huffs again only this time it's in regret...

Laurent: "No, I'm sorry Eleni. I'm just angry because he left and I didn't have a chance to talk to him. I didn't mean to take it out on you. I'm sorry".

Eleni: "Thank you Laurent".

Laurent: "Welcome". *sigh* "So what is this job"?

Eleni: "A commercial. You shoot the day after tomorrow. I know it's short notice but it's the only time we could schedule it since Les Twins have other upcoming business".

Laurent: "I understand. Well what commercial is it"?

Eleni: "It's for a unisex fragrance. You know, like Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian did years ago"?

Laurent: "And because we act like couple...."

Eleni: "Yes and they think you can really pull this off. Saif was told that you two killed the photo shoot and that you had a lot of chemistry on set".

Laurent's nose flares in anger as he thinks to himself, "no the fuck we don't" but instead he replies...

Laurent: "I just did my job".

Eleni: "And you're doing a great one". *pause* "Now the commercial will be shot at the Joule Casting Studio and you'll need to be there at 10 am". 

Laurent: "Ok". *sigh* "Is that it"?

Eleni: *smile* "That's it".

Laurent: "Perfect. See you later".

Before Eleni can respond Laurent turns around and heads for the exit doors. His uber is already waiting for him and as eager as he is to try to work things out with Larry he has to clear his head so he walks over to the driver and uses his finger to signal for him to lower the window...
