House Call

Hello my loves. The latter part of this one shot was inspired by a TV show. Writing this made for a much needed laugh for me and I hope you all get a nice laugh too. ❤️  

It's a beautiful Friday afternoon. The sky blazes blue and the sun is a celebration of yellow and bright. The trees rise to the occasion donning their very best verdant hues, and the flowers...a new masterpiece each day gazing upward at the ever present sky. Parked alongside of the area designated for parents to pick up their children from school sits Larry. His window is partially rolled down to catch a relaxing breeze of the soft wind. As it cascades through his soft fro he feels the wind also grace his scalp prompting him to close his eyes and relax. Moments later his eyes open at the sound of the blaring school bell and a smile graces his lips because any moment he and Laurent's five year old daughter, Gracie, will be coming out of the building with her class. He steps outside of the car and relaxes against the door then takes a look around at the other parents adorning smiles as they also can't wait to see their little ones. Larry is also smiling because his love has been away for a few days on business at an attorney's conference but will be home very soon so the inside of him can barely contain his excitement to see him. He then hears the double doors push open and several teachers are leading their classes out as it's customary for them to make sure the bus riders get on their buses ok and all of the car riders are picked up by their parents or caretakers. Larry sees Gracie's teacher and right behind her is their little love so his eyes light up. He immediately raises his arm and waves as he cheerfully calls for her. She hears him but doesn't see him so her adorable little eyes dart all around. Her teacher spots him then bends down and smiles as she points to where he is. Gracie smiles widely and beautifully as she takes off towards him. Her beautiful hair creates its own wind and she's running full speed until alas she's where he can pick her up. He does exactly that and a big hug is followed by a sweet kiss. He pulls her back then smiles as he looks in those beautiful, round eyes...

Larry: *smile* "I missed you baby". 

Gracie: *smile* "I missed you too papa"!

Larry: *smile* "Did you have a good day in school"?

Gracie: *smile* "Yeah! We had art class and I made something for my papas"!

Larry: *playful gasp* "You did"?

Gracie happily and excitedly nods then belts out that it's in her backpack so Larry gently places her on her feet then helps her take the backpack off so she can retrieve this masterpiece to show him. When he sees what it is his mouth drops. It's a clay copy of her tiny hand prints on a heart shaped molding. Tears could pour from him right now at such a sight and after a gentle clearing of his throat...

Larry: "This is so beautiful princess". 

Gracie: "Thank you papa", she replies sweetly. 

Larry: "Welcome my love, and thank you for this sweet and precious gift". 

Gracie: "Welcome", she replies softly. 

Larry: "You know your papa will love it just as much as I do". 

Gracie: *smile* "Is he still coming home today"?!

Larry: *smile* "Yes he is baby and he can't wait to see you". 

The glow in Gracie's eyes knowing she will see her other adoring papa soon couldn't be more beautiful. Larry leans forward to give her a soft kiss to her forehead then places he and Laurent's beautiful gift in her backpack then picks her up so they can leave. As he's securing her in her booster seat that sweet voice and those innocent eyes looks up at Larry as she asks, "can we make something for papa to have when he comes home"? Larry smiles at the sweet request and he also thought of something to do for his love while he also spends some father-daughter time with her so he sweetly replies, "of course we can princess". Happy with that answer Gracie smiles and relaxes in her seat while Larry gets in the car to head home...
