OH, MY GOD! XCCCC I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO UPDATE! I AM SOOOOO SORRY. I'M A DISGRACE. I JUST- I STARTED WATCHING SHERLOCK AND THAT HAS LITERALLY BEEN THE CENTER OF MY ATTENTION THIS PAST WEEK. I APOLOGIZE PROFUSELY. IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN, I SWEAR.
>THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT<
Alayna sighed as she grabbed the can of soda from the vending machine. Her and Sam had gone to talk with 'whatsername' about her husbands death. There was something definitely wrong with that neighborhood, she just couldn't put her finger on it. She turned to head back into the room, only to stop short when she saw him standing in front of him. An almost inaudible gasp left her lips and she carelessly let the can drop from her hands as her eyes widened. "Hey, Alayna." He gave her that smile that she loved so much.
"Daryll..." She whispered, her words sticky against her throat. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she regarded him with sad eyes. "You're... you-you're..." She couldn't get herself to say it.
"Alive?" He finished for her with a soft voice, his own blue eyes sad as he regarded her. "You look different. A good different." He let out a humorless chuckle.
"Daryll... wha-what are you?" Her voice cracked slightly as she asked the question. Daryll frowned at her question before it slowly dawned on him what she was insinuating. His gaze dropped to the ground sadly, not wanting to say it, instead he flicked his eyes back up to her. She gasped once again as his once beautiful blue eyes were a solid black, her hand flew up to her mouth. She had half a mind to run into the room where Karoline and the boys were and tell them what he was, but the other half of her kept her glued in her spot. The other half screamed at her 'he's Daryll, Demon or not'. "What are you doing here?" She whispered, turning her head away from him as she struggled to keep all her emotions at bay.
"I'm here to help you." He admitted, taking a step forward. He couldn't deny how much it hurt him when she took a step back, away from him.
"Help me?" She let out a humorless chuckle, flicking her eyes back to him when she found the courage to do so. "How?"
I've been here all along
The words echoed in her head and her eyes widened slightly. "They were messages." She whispered, dropping her eyes to her feet in shock before slowly inclining her head to look back up at him. "Why now?"
"My friend," He said slowly and Alayna frowned. "She wanted to wait until Azazel was dead and gone." Alayna took in a deep breath and she took in all the information, nodding silently. "'Layna, you and Sam are supposed to rule over the Demons. There're a lot who want you dead."
"Thank you, but-" She broke off as she swallowed hard. "But, I don't need your help. Just... J-just leave me alone." Her voice was barely above a whisper as she turned away from him to head inside.
"Alayna, wait," She froze, but didn't dare turn back around to face him. "The kids." She turned around to ask him what he meant only to be met with darkness. She looked around confused, expecting him to pop back out, but he never did.
