The Anti-Claus. That was the best bet Sam and Karoline had come up with while they waited for Dean and Alayna to get back from talking with the victims family. Alayna had insisted on going, she rarely got to interview unless it was all four of them going. Karoline was pinning pictures up on the wall as Sam sat on his laptop, researching. That's when Dean and Alayna came walking in through the motel door to Sam and Alayna's room, Dean carrying two bags. "So, was I right?" Dean asked, dumping the bag on the small table by the window. "Is it the serial-killing chimney sweep?" Dean smirked at the two of them, causing Karoline to give a soft snort of amusement.
"Yep," Sam answered. "It's uh, it's actually Dick Van Dyke." This time both girls gave a small laugh.
"Who?" Alayna looked at Dean incredulously then back at Sam and Karoline.
"Mary Poppins?" Alayna offered, trying to ring a bell in his head.
"Who's that?" At Dean's question Alayna looked back at Karoline in exasperation. Who doesn't watch Disney?
"Never mind that," Karoline waved it off, smiling at the adorably confused look on his face. "What'd you figure out." She prompted, looking between the two of them.
"Walsh wasn't the first to get grabbed out of his house this month," Alayna explained as she shrugged off her jacket.
"The other guy get dragged up the chimney, too?" Sam asked, turning in his seat just as Alayna moved farther into the room to drop her bag on the counter.
"Don't know." Dean was the one to answer this time, shrugging off his jacket as he did so. "Witnesses said they heard a thump on the roof," He looked from Sam to Karoline who shrugged in response. "So, what the Hell do you think we're dealing with?"
"We have an idea, but it's gonna sound crazy," Karoline warned him, looking over at Sam hesitantly.
Dean chuckled as he shook his head, "What could you possibly say that sounds crazy to me?" Karoline smirked slightly, looking down at the floor then over at Sam again.
"Um... evil Santa," Dean paused at Sam's answer and Alayna slowly turned around to face him with raised eyebrows.
"It's not that crazy." She pursed her lips, coming over to look at the computer screen over his shoulder. "There's an Anti-Claus in every culture," She scanned the pictures on the screen before looking up at Dean.
"Yeah," Karoline agreed bringing a handful of pictures over to Dean as she spoke. "Belsnickel, Krampus, Black Peter. There's all sorts of lore about Santa's brother going dark side, punishing the wicked around Christmas time."
"By hauling their ass up chimneys?" All Karoline gave as an answer was a shrug with a slight nod. "So, this is your theory, huh? Santa's shady brother?" He inquired, holding up one of the pictures as he looked from Karoline to Sam and Alayna.
