Waking up the room was quiet and calm, unlike his dream, Dean looked around forr the girls or Sam, but none of them were there. The terror of the dream was still with him as his breathing came in short, shallow gasps. He'd fallen asleep without even intending, but then he wasn't surprised because none of them had been getting a lot of sleep lately. The book he'd been reading was still open to the page on Hell hounds, but there was nothing new there, nothing was going to save him. Sam and Alayna walked into the room and looked down at him. "Find anything good?" Alayna asked, pulling up a chair next to him.

Dean closed the book and shook his head, unable to bring his eyes to meet hers in case she saw the terror that was sure to be sitting there. "No." He answered, clearing his throat. "Nothing good."

"Well, Bobby and Tom have. Finally." Sam said with a smile.

Dean looked up at him, surprised, "Yeah?"

"Yeah. A way to find Lilith." He explained, still smiling.

Dean smirked, "Oh. With just uh – " Dean glanced at his watch, quickly doing the math. "...Thirty hours to go." Sam didn't say anything, just watched him. Why did this feel like just another goose chase.

Smiling up at him, Dean thought about him, and the girls, and how he'd really rather spend the last day of his life. "Hey, why don't we just make a TJ-run, yeah? You know... some senoritas, cervezas, uh, we could... What's Spanish for donkey show'?"

"Show de burro." Alayna answered smartly, earning an eye roll from Dean.

Sam snickered at the two of them, "So if we do save you... Let's never do that." Dean chuckled and looked down at the closed book beneath his hands.

"Yeah..." He heard the shower turn on in the bathroom and he looked over to the closed door, clearly that's where Karoline had disappeared to. He sighed, shaking his head. How was he ever going to say goodbye to her?

Sam sat down on the other side of Dean with a sigh, looking pass him at Alayna who smiled sadly. "Dean," She said softly, catching his attention. "I know, we're cutting it close, but we're gonna save you Dean, no matter what it takes. We're not gonna let you go to Hell." Her and Sam were looking at him with such determination in their eyes and when Dean looked them over, he wished he had their confidence.

"I swear." Sam added. "Everything's gonna be okay." Dean couldn't believe it was Sam telling him that it was going to be okay, usually it was completely the opposite, and he was having to fix things. Only this time he couldn't fix things.

Sam's face suddenly distorted into a demonic contortion and Dean fought not to show it as his head flung side to side. He knew it was just a hallucination, but it didn't make it any easier to watch. Sam's face returned to normal and Dean breathed a soft sigh of relief, "Yeah, okay."

When Bobby and Tom arrived, shortly after they'd finished eating, they got straight to work, spreading the map of the United States out on the table. Bobby had some old tracking device of sorts, looked like a pendulum suspended from a pyramid which he put over the map. The thing looked ancient, wonder where they had dredged the old thing up from. "So you need a name, that's the whole kit and caboodle." Bobby explained, positioning the device. "With the right name, right ritual, ain't nothing you can't suss out."

"Like the town Lilith's in?" Karoline asked, looking hopeful between the two older men.

"Sweetheart, when we get done, we'll know the street. " Tom promised his daughter with a smile. He set the pendulum spinning, chanting something in another language. The pendulum started to swing around the map, slowly zoning in on a location and then it came to a grinding halt. Tom looked up with a triumphed smirk.
