chapter 9

"Adventure"

Darren's POV

"why aren't wearing any slippers?" I ask again.  Were sitting on the bench and I'm keeping the cap so close that the only thing you can see is my lips and nose. I'm just enduring the hotness I feel right now.

She gave a shy smile and open her mouth but close again. She kinda avoided my question ( for the fourth time) cause she look the other way where kids are running around the swing.

I started analyzing her face. She's like an angel. She has this pink lips and pinkish cheeks. Her hair is brown and so her eyes. And her nose is pointed. Her skin tone is white.. Wearing the same dress like the very first time I saw her. She's very pretty in a simple way.

"Darren, do you have a wish that had come true?" She suddenly speak looking from afar. I thought about it.

I was looking at her then she caught me. She gave me a smile.

"Well, yes.. Being in showbiz is one of my dreams that had come true, performing for thousand of people is also a dream come true... Why did you ask?"

"I never thought that this day would come... I mean, I never expect it." She said in a  dreamy voice.

"What do you mean?"

She looked alarm and cover her mouth. She look at me in wide eyes. I kinda feel she's a little paranoid and still look cute.

Next thing I knew she's running away from me.

"Hey!" I shouted and chase after her. She took this routines that I'm not familiar of. My cap almost flew away but fortunately I caught it. She was still running and I'm starting to pant. We met a dead end, she turn around and when she spot me. She was surprise and she back away. I frown and approach her reaching my hand for hers.

"Hey, it's okay.." I said but she shook her head for a no.

"Just leave and I'll be fine." She spoke. I stop on my tracks. E she afraid of me? Well this is the first. I took my cap off including my shades and I wore off my jacket. I put them aside and took a step forward. I was walking towards her when we heard a bark from the right side.

A big black dog was staring at us while drooling in a grit teeth. I glance at her And she was staring at it. She was now slowly backing away till she was cornered. The dog bark again this time approaching.

"Take my hand.." I whispered. But apparently she heard me cause she nod and slowly reaching for it. I grab my jacket and cap but the shades fell off..

When her hands met mine, we look at each other. She has this scared face on.

"On 3..." I mouthed and she nod and stare back at the threatening dog still barking for us to leave.

I grip her hand and we run as fast as we could. I keep glancing to see the dog chasing us. When I look at the girl (still don't know her name) she was murmuring something.

"Are you tired?" I said still running but she didn't answer but she kept on running. Till the dog stop like some kind of barrier was blocking the it. We stop as I chase my breath. The dog was still barking like a dog kept inside a invisible box. It's a miracle.

"Are you okay?" She ask. Looking worried. She wipe my sweat away then look at my arms and back. I chuckled and hold her wrist.

"I'm okay.. I'm just... Out of breath.." I said and bend and hold my knees for support.
