Emery was sitting next to the brunette werewolf, watching her as she placed the right amount of wolfsbane in her cup. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Emery." Hayley looked at her insistently. "You're making me even more anxious than I already am."

Emery hesitated a moment before continuing with her next response, "Good. This is a big decision. You need to be positively sure that this is what you want." Though Emery didn't care much for babies, in general, she wanted to make sure that her..friend(ish) was thinking this through.

"Come on, Hayley." Hayley continued, ignoring Emery's last statement, "One upset stomach, and all this stupid drama is ancient history."

"Right, 'cause that's a perfect reason to get rid of your unborn child." Emery sarcastically spoke as Hayley raised the cup to her lips.

Hayley sighed in annoyance as she brought the cup back down, "Can you just shut up?"

"Excuse you -" Emery's voice trailed off as both girls heard a rustle coming from not too far away. While Emery wanted to come to the conclusion of squirrels, she had a gnawing feeling in her stomach.

Hayley stood up, turning around only to have a vampire standing in front of her.

"Dumb move, coming into the quarter. You're coming with me, wolf." Emery watched in amusement and a little bit of disbelief as the vampire completely disregarded Emery, who was still sitting on the bench.

Emery stood up slowly as Hayley made her little move, "I have had it up to here with vampires telling me what to do." With that last word, she threw her cup on to the vampire.

"Ugh! Ah!" The vampire groaned in pain though it proved to be effortless. The moment that Hayley turned around, more vampires had simply come out of the blue.

Before Emery could bat an eyelash, a blonde figure had come up behind both vampires, snapping one's neck and ripping the other's heart out, "Now that is no way to treat a pregnant lady. I do hate bad manners."

As Rebekah Mikaelson turned to look at the supposed 'human' behind the pregnant werewolf, she could feel the immense power radiating off the other blonde; and as she watched a sadistic smile grew on Emery's face at the sight of the killings, Rebekah knew she wasn't normal.

---

Emery was working hard after that very scenario. Rebekah had (surprisingly) let her go with not many questions asked, and she knew that Hayley would keep her mouth shut.

The entirety of the next day was spent dress-shopping. It wasn't like Emery had enough dresses through her vast experience with life.

Never being one to fit in with the crowd, Emery opted for a long-sleeved black mini dress and black heels. With a black mask covering the entire top portion of her face, it was no surprise that Emery stood out from the crowd at Marcel's little masquerade ball.

"Invite?" Being stopped by a vampire posed as security, all she had to do was smile. Well, and warp the man's image to see what he desired most.

Emery entered the building only to for her eyes to widen in astonishment. Acrobats twirling from the ceiling, exotic dancers performing on platforms, and confetti falling from the ceiling were only some of the features that Marcel had gone for.

Almost immediately, Klaus and Rebekah entered from behind. They both recognized the girl almost immediately and only wondered what she was doing in a party full of vampires.

While Rebekah's thought were almost entirely pure about the blonde, Klaus couldn't help but think about how ravishing she looked in her dress. He watched as she subconsciously tightened her ponytail before turning his attention back to his sister.

"Well, this certainly is a fitting backdrop for tonight's events, I must say," Klaus said.

Emery turns to notice the two original siblings. Klaus catches her eye for only a moment before his attention is captured by something behind her. Turning, she sees Camille entering the area and smiles deviously. Either Rebekah or Klaus invited the blonde bartender, and by the look on Klaus's face, it was more than likely Rebekah.

"What are they doing here?" Klaus's eyebrows furrowed in confusion and interest as he stared at both blondes.

"What better way to distract Marcel than to put his very human new girl into a room chock full of vampires?" Rebekah looked highly smug with herself, watching as Camille slowly made her way across the room towards her.

"And the other one?"

"No idea. Maybe a vampire's treat? Though I do recognize her. She was that girl with Hayley the other day."

Before Klaus could question his sister, naturally wondering why this girl would be with the mother of his unborn child as she was going to attempt killing it, Rebekah had already started making her own way forward.

Klaus had no choice but to follow his sister with a sigh as she greeted Camille with a smile, a seemingly fake one at that.

"Hello, darling. You look precious." Rebekah spoke.

Emery watched silently from afar as Marcel took notice to the group's encounter, both paying attention to the words being spoke.

"This party is ridiculous, but I think I went a bit splashy with this dress." Camille gave Rebekah a gentle smile in return as she glanced around, noticing Klaus standing behind, "Is he the infamous on-again/off-again?"

Klaus, hearing the conversation, came up closer with an amused smile plastered on his face, "He's the brother, actually, and my sister is right. You do look stunning."

"You clean up pretty well yourself," Camille noted as she looked the man up and down subtly.

Klaus chuckled gently, "Well, don't be fooled, love. I'm the devil in disguise."

Rebekah smiled impatiently, "You two chit-chat. I need booze."

Not bothering to watch the rest of what was no doubt going to be a boring a boring event, Emery opted in following Rebekah to the bar instead.

After all, what made a party more fun than booze?
