Chapter VII:
Curse
"Mikan" A cold voice calls my name. I turned to the source and found Hotaru walking to me.
"Yes?" I smiled at her. Her face becomes annoyed by my smiling. I giggled a bit and walk beside her.
"So? How is your curse?"
"Hm.. I don't actually know.. My curse isn't developing yet. The doctor said I was fine and don't need any potions"
"Wow. Still with potions huh?"
"Yup! I feel like I'm a princess.. In those fairy tales! Like Sleeping Beauty!"
"Keep Dreaming Mikan" Hotaru rolls her eyes. I laughed.
"The princess meets the prince and they live happily ever af-" I squealed at my imagination.
"Does Happily Ever After even exist?" She said. That's deep..
"Well, I'm cursed, so why not dream a happily ever after? Maybe my Prince will come with a shiny white horse!" I imagined a handsome prince comes to me and kisses me.
"Quit Dreaming Mikan. Your prince will come with a limo, not a shiny white horse"
"Yeah, Yeah, Your Boring Hotaru!" I sighed.
I heard someone chuckled. I turn around and saw the devil.
"Really Polka? Still dreaming your childhood fantasy?"
"Got a problem with that? A girl can dream" I said. I really hate this devil. Maybe he is a satan? Or Lucifer it self?!
"Well, Unless the prince is me, I have no problem with it" He smirked his signature smirk and walk away.
"Hotaru"
"Yes?"
"He is definitely the satan that comes to earth"
"Stupid" Hotaru said and walks away. Leaving me standing alone in the empty hallway.
As you can see, or read, My curse is something that my family have since my ancestors. My ancestors have made a contract with the devil. The contract says that the devil will save and give life to a heir. At that time, My ancestors daughter is sick and she is the only heir.
And in return, The devil will curse my ancestor. The curse is, if the person kisses a boy/girl who is not from their own family, Then She/He will be banished and becomes the devil's slave for eternity.
And so, My mother didn't kiss my father until they finally become family. The curse passes to me. Tsubasa -nii and You-chan didn't get the curse. It's always the girls who have it.
That's why I hate being a girl.
