Natsume was still thinking about what Hotaru said to him. Why would he be careful of Ruka? He is his best friend! He is his first friend. They have been together since they're elementary!
Just by the thought of being suspicious to Ruka never crossed his mind. Never in his whole life has he ever thought of Ruka in such a bad way. Ruka was like an angel to him.
Ruka was the good side while he is the bad side. If Ruka wants something that belongs to him, he will give it to him. Eventhough that thing is special to him. Ruka also does the same.
"-tsume! Natsume!" A fairly angelic voice woke him up from his tranced state. He blinked twice and found Mikan staring at him with curiosity and worry.
"Why are you spacing out? Didn't you said you'll help m with Koizumi?" Mikan starts asking questions. Natsume was silent for a minute. What should he tell her? Should he just tell her?
"Nothing"
"Really? Alright then if you don't want to share with me. But don't bottle up all those feelings too much. You'll get hurt" she advised. Natsume was listening to her advise. It's true. What she said is true.
He never shares his burdens to other people. He always puts all of it to himself. He doesn't want to trouble other people. Not even Ruka. He always gets hurt in the end. But it's already a habit of him. He wasn't hurt anymore.
He was already used to it.
But with Mikan, he felt like he could tell her everything about him. Like he could tell everyone and share his burdens with her. With them. That's why he wants to be by her side. To protect her.
Mikan is always special for him.
Always and always will be.
He will not let her go. Never. Even to Ruka.
Ruka was not feeling like himself.
He was never the jealous type. He never noticed any other girl. He thought girls were all the same. Only after his looks. But Mikan was different.
She never judges people from the looks. She judges people from their personality. That's why she hates Luna. That's why she is liked by everyone.
That's why he likes her.
But she is together with Natsume. Natsume also likes her. He also wants to be with her. Inside his heart, he doesn't want to let go of her. But in his brain, he wants to let go. He needs to let go of her or else someone will get hurt.
He doesn't want Natsume to get hurt.
He has already enough pain in his life.
He was confused.
Hotaru is rushing towards Mikan's house. She needs to tell her. This was too important for her life. She finally found the cure. The cure to her long-lasting curse.
But she is worried. What if Mikan doesn't want to do it? The cure is.. A bit weird. She was just hoping Mikan won't be a stubborn person and doesn't want to do it.
Or else her 5 hours of hard work will be wasted.
And it is no way she will make her hard work go to waste.
