Just because Keiji did, doesn't mean he enjoyed keeping up with Koutarou's foolish antics.
~~~
He was 29 when he returned.
He stood at the door of Koutarou's doorstep unsure whether he should knock or not.
What if I see something I'll regret? Or if he doesn't want to see me? I did lose contact with him for three months, due to the exams... Keiji grimaced. Maybe I should just find a hotel to spend the night. Oh god what was I thinking to run back here as soon as I graduated...
Keiji stood at his doorstep for another good thirty minutes before he finally got the courage to knock on the door.
He waited for five minutes but there was no answer. Keiji frowned. Is he out or...
He tried the doorknob, and the door easily opened. He muttered a curse and noted to scold Koutarou once he found him. He left his bags at the entrance, and stepped inside the house. It looked the same as a few months ago, just messier. He walked, slowly towards he living room and peeking in. Everything was still. He noticed a pair of feet sticking off the couch and sighed, walking over, less cautiously now.
And sure enough, Koutarou was snoring on the couch. He shirt was pulled up, revealing his stomach, and one of his hands were in his pants. Drool was also staining one of the cushions.
Keiji face palmed. If I were a murderer, Bokuto would long be dead.
Keiji lifted a leg, and kicked the sleeping man in the side, jolting him awake. Koutarou yelped and scrambled up, eyes wide, staring at Akaashi. It took him a moment until he fully processed what was going on, and when he did, he was ecstatic.
"Keiji! What are you doing here?! Why didn't you call first?" Koutarou asked smiling brightly, though it faded after seeing Keiji's disapproving stare.
"Should'nt you be asking me something else?" Keiji said crossing his arms.
Koutarou stared at him for a few moments, before slowly bowing his head to avoid his boyfriends stare. "...I left the door opened again didn't I?" Keiji nodded. Koutarou mumbled an apology.
"BUT KEIJI!!" Koutarou whined. Keiji winced at the sudden noise. He had forgotten how obnoxious his boyfriend had been. "HOW COULD YOU JUST TELL ME THAT YOU WERE BUSY THAT NOT REPLY TO ANY OF MY TEXTS AFTER YOU SAID THAT! I LOST ALL CONTACT WITH YOU FOR THREE MONTHS! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME!"
Keiji recalled the 5,376 text messages and 203 missed calls he had gotten after he had turned his phone back on after the testing period, and sighed. He extended his arms outward towards Koutarou who was pouting on the couch. Koutarou looked up, still pouting, but then pounced into Keiji's arms burying his head in Keiji's shoulder.
Keiji smiled, wrapping his arms around the man. "I'm back, Bokuto-san."
~~~
"So you're officially back?" Koutarou asked
"Yeah," Keiji confirmed, "I'm staying here. I'll be working at that hospital, the one where you spent the night with me in. Imagine that. It was 12 years ago." He said with a nostalgic expression.
"How could i forget," Koutarou grinned, "You thought I was gonna die." Keiji sent another disapproving stare at Koutarou. The two were currently curled up onto the couch with a blanket over them. Keiji was puffing at a hot cup of coffee. The television was blaring but I doubt the two were paying attention to whatever was on the screen.
"So you won't be running off somewhere for eleven years again?" Keiji asked
Keiji smiled slightly. "No. I'm staying. For good."
"Is that a proposal?" Koutarou smirked at his boyfriend.
"What? You don't wasnt me here?" Keiji joked. His high school life had changed him a lot more than Koutarou hoped. At the least, Koutarou thought that he would eventually be the one to change him, not eleven years away from him. But of course, in high school Keiji could finally start acting as a student and not a mom.
"So it was proposal!"
Keiji blushed. "I heard your team made it to the finals," Keiji said, attempting to change the embarrassing topic.
"Aw come on!" Koutarou whined, watching Keiji intently, making sure to never forget the face Keiji was making. So cute!
Keiji bit his lip avoiding Koutarou stare, pink still tinting his cheeks.
"Maybe."
Koutarou kept watching him, his smile widening every second.
Keiji turned back, smiling helplessly at his perky lover.
"I guess, maybe... yes."
