It was a quiet morning morning in the Halstead household. Jay rubbed his eyes as he woke, turning his face and smiling at his wife who lay in bed next to him. He starred at the alarm clock that blared beside to him, groaning as he realized it was time for him to get up. Despite having the day off, he knew he couldn't sleep in forever.

He climbed out of bed, making his way out of their master bedroom, and into the hallway of their home. He stopped at his twelve-year-old son Parker's room first, careful not to wake him as he quietly opened the door. A grin rose on Jay's face as he admired the sports posters and soccer trophies that adorned his older son's room- Parker Jesse Halstead was just like Jay was as a kid. He collected baseball cards and he never missed a Blackhawks game. It was safe to say that his oldest son was definitely a Halstead.

His next stop was his younger son's room. He opened the door slightly, watching intently as his son's chest rose and fell with each breath. He still wheezed bit with every breath- asthma was one of side effects of being born three weeks premature, but Jay and Erin weren't complaining, for they knew they could've had it much worse.

He was ripped out of his thoughts as he realized he was still stood in the doorway. He grinned as he took in the hundreds of stuffed animals that decorated his youngest child's bedroom. He was definitely still a kid at heart, but seven-year-old Travis was not to blame. From the time he was born, Travis Henry Halstead always loved stuffed animals. They believed it was his 'comfort item' during his time spent in the hospital dealing with his Asthma. Jay had been concerned about the 'obsession' getting out of hand, but Erin insisted he would stop eventually.

Again, he pulled himself out of his trance, yawning as he walked further down the hallway, making his final stop outside his only daughter's room. He smiled widely as he watched her lay in a peaceful slumber. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his only daughter- problem was, she knew that. Annie Grace Halstead had Jay wrapped around her little finger; she was the apple of his eye. In Jay's eyes, she could do no wrong. He loved all his children equally, but Annie was different. She was his only daughter, after all. A wide grin spread on his face as he quietly closed her bedroom door, and slowly made his way downstairs and into the kitchen.

He was surprised to find Erin standing in front of the island preparing the kids' favourite waffle batter. "Hey sexy..." She smirked, romantically biting her lip. "What has you in such a fine mood this morning, Mrs. Halstead?" Jay's voice was filled with passion as he grinned at his wife. "Just thinking about the amazing night we had last night..." She trailed off, obviously mesmerized. "Yeah, that was-" Before he could finish his sentence, the sound of laughter and loud footsteps came from staircase.

"Hey, no fair! You cheated!" Travis Henry Halstead called from the stairs as he came stampeding into the kitchen, along with his older brother and twin sister. "Nuh uh! I did not!" Annie squealed as she jumped off Parker's back. It was amazing to see the bond between his eldest son and his only daughter, they were thick as thieves. There was something to say about the relationship between the twins, however.

Erin had been thrilled when she found out that they were carrying twins, and was overcome with joy when she found out that one of the babies was a girl. She had always wanted a daughter, and Annie Halstead was all she ever wanted and more. She adored her boys too, but they were definitely Halstead's. Parker's world revolved around sports, and would play any sport he could- he was already on hockey and baseball teams. Travis was a little on the small side, having been born three weeks premature, but that didn't stop the rambunctious boy from playing his favorite sport- soccer.

Both Erin and Jay swore that that was all their youngest son did. If he wasn't playing with his brother and sister, he was playing soccer in their backyard. Jay loved that he had son's who loved sports as much as he did. He spent every minute of his free time with them, whether it was watching a Blackhawks game on TV or playing ball in their enormous backyard. As much as Erin loved spending time with her boys, they were definitely their father's boys. Thankfully Erin had Annie, who loved shopping and getting her nails done just as much as her mom did. Despite looking exactly like her dad, Annie definitely shared her mother's personality.
