Chapter Eight

I was staring at the darkness ahead of me, waiting for someone to tell me that the silence I had come to know was a prank, a joke so, I could laugh this lonliness off but nothing stirred that is until I felt something get stabbed into my back, I opened my mouth to let out a scream but nothing could escape into the open. I felt hungry, so hungry that my feet dragged themselves across the floor in search for food. The monster inside me growled wanting to be fed but there was nothing in this eternal darkness.

Suddenly everything became lighter and grey, I could hear a voice but it seemed so far away, and now something was jabbed into my stomach, was something happening or was I just paranoid, I didn't know which one it was and it was leaving me paranoid.

"Stop" Someone ordered, the voice crawled its way into my skin. "Do you do this all the time?" The voice asked, what did I do? A bright light flashed its way around me. "Mia, wake up" The orders were making me agitated, how I just wanted to rip open the person near me and... I felt the person leave or move, something happened something odd.

Everything was faded but I was stood in the middle of what seemed like a kitchen, pointing a knife at... Alex. "What happened?" I asked, chuckling as I let go of the knife. Alex sighed "You went crazy, sleepwalking and stuff. I'm not really sure" Alex helped me onto a chair, "Was anyone else here?" My hands wrapped themselves around a mug. "No just me" Alex replied, I saw something pass through his eyes, guilt, a lie but what did he have to be guilty about? "Thanks for covering me" I showed him my gratitude, at first he seemed confused but then smiled softly "Sure, any time". Men and women in white coats filled the kitchen, "Are you okay?" They asked, to which I nodded. "Yeh, just a little" I paused, looking down at my drink "Hungry, I guess"

Blaze walked into the kitchen, not giving me the slightest attention, he just simply turned the coffee machine on and waited. "How are you? Dog" He asked getting himself a mug. "Her vitals are fine but some blood will do her good." A doctor looking into my eyes, reported, she turned to Alex. but didn't have to say anything "I'll take her to the blood room" Alex helped me up and walked away while having a good hold of my hand. I felt safe around him, all of a sudden. Blaze coughed, "I'll go with you. Don't want the dog going losing it's insanity again, do we?" He smirked at my low growl as we left the kitchen. I hated his guts.

We walked down a long corridor. "The blood room is right here" Alex opened a large door and the smell of fresh blood wandered into my nose. Yum. Every type of blood had it's own unique smell, I stepped inside and looked around, large blood bags were neatly packed in several small compartments in a large fridge. "Take one" Someone urged me but I was to engrossed in the blood, I didn't know who it was but instinct told me it was Alex. I walked slowly towards a blood bag reading AB+ and ripped it open, it dribbled down my clothes as I reached out for another one. I drank, the red liquid until I was satisfied, my hunger completely gone.

Blaze's P.O.V

I watched Mia as she drank thirstily and if I didn't know any better I would have thought she was my kind.

She had been wondering outside my bedroom forever before coming in uninvited in search for food, her eyes were only slightly open as she walked in every corner of the my room, totally ignoring my presence. And somehow, this dog had managed to open a part of my heart when she spilled her past, how can a family treat their own kind, blood and all like that. My lips had burned as I kissed her of her forehead and covered her sleeping body.

Before she had even finished her story, Alex was already out the door, he hated people bringing up their past, his ideology included the fact that it was the present that made you, you not the past. Me, I just enjoyed a juicy story. I had run to call the doctors and made Alex babysit Mia.

The blood dribbled down her clothes after she was on her 4th blood bag. "Enjoy and embrace the fact you're half our kind" I whispered into her ear but she was too consumed in finishing the bag, that she must not heard me. There were tears in her eyes and she kept muttering a repeated word, something I couldn't exactly pick up on. "You okay?" I asked after she had completely calmed down. With dead, blunt eyes she looked into my soul and nodded. "I'm fine, Alex" She had barely said her statement, but I was so sure that she had just addressed me as my best friend, that I stood back in surprise. Alex was sat on a stool in the opposite corner, without a care, he hated wolves more than me but I wasn't blind and could see the extra treatment of niceness that he was giving Mia by not calling her a dog and spitting at her face.

I knew what kind of man Alex was but not what kind of girl Mia was and this lack of information was eating me from inside. I looked back at Mia as she wiped her mouth and clothes, why did you call me Alex? I wanted to ask her but my head wanted to have nothing to do with her yet my heart yearned for answers.

Just what are you doing to me?

A/N: Alex just told Mia he was the one who had looked after her, but in reality it was Blaze. So, who's the good guy and who's the bad guy?
